Anyone drill ICE Vibe XR?
« on: October 07, 2015, 09:28:52 AM »
Has anyone here gotten and drilled the ICE Vibe?  I have one and I'm trying to figure out where it fits in the grand scheme of things; or at least in relation to the generally available Hammer balls. For example, how does it compare to either of the virals or any of the Spikes. My presumption is that is the general area for the ice vibe.

How it relates to othe XR vibes does not help since I don't have any and they provide me no frame of reference.

I've been thinking of adding an original Viral, but before I spend more money, I'd like to know if it is in fact a step down from the ice vibe. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have all of the Vibes / Virals and while I have not drilled up my Ice Vibe, the pearlized coverstock on the Ice is a little weaker overall than the original Viral, so the Ice Vibe will get down the lane about 1' longer & a nice backend motion of the spot than the original Viral.

Put your favorite layout in that Ice Vibe and you will like what you see. Really can't go wrong with the Vibe series as that core matches up great with all coverstocks.

The only Vibe produced that most bowlers did not like was the original XR (Smurf Blue) Vibe as that cover was a little too strong for most bowlers liking.... other than that, the Ice Vibe will be a great ball when the lanes are drier and you need to get the ball back from deep inside. The new Viral SOLID will compliment the Ice Vibe if you need a stronger Vibe/Viral ball for the medium lane patterns...

Hope this helps...
