I really wish they wouldn't have made EVERY single shot on the fresh shot slow down at some point in the shot. First time i've ever been dissapointed with a video on buddies. Ball looks similar to the BW, but it's supposed to be similar. Better looking anyway!

I totally agree!  This was the first buddies video that I didn't like because of the slow motion stuff.  I like when slow motion clips are used in vids but not to the extent they used them in this vid.

Even though I didn't care for the slow motion clips, I still appreciate the vids Buddies puts out.

I think it's good to show the ball on a THS but would also like to see it on a long fresh flat pattern.

I never cared for my B.W. the cover never seemed a good match for me.it was either to strong or not strong enough.maybe this will be the best widow yet.if the cover is as strong as the original no mercy I can see this being a great ball with the skid/flip layout.for heavy oil I like something smoother then the widow's core.

I will also be doing a Bite Video, in mine i will be comparing the Solid, Pearl and Bite, all with the same 3 layouts...on a THS and a PBA pattern, so stay tuned there is more to come from Videoballreviews and Buddies!

Then why throw in with Buddies Britton?  You're video's have aways showed more comparison on different lane conditions than Buddies video's.  You're coming down to their level by throwing in with them.  IMO....you should have stayed in your own element.

I like Buddies as a internet based business and have bought stuff from them but I base nothing on their video's.

I'd also agree with those that would say why would you want a ball that sucks more oil off the lane?  Can you imagine two 5-man teams with a bunch of Bite's?  Sheesh.

I am still in my own element, my videos havent changed really, have they?

The buddies videos have been added to show more styles and more balls that i could not show everyone due to a few of the companies that still were not participating with me and my site.  I have gotten lots of positive feedback, now that for most balls have 2 if not more videos.

My goal is to create a one stop place on the net for ball reaction videos, and it was only a matter of time before more videos were needed to show multiple styles/shots.  In my eyes the guys up at buddies are the only other people out there that make a good quality video for every company, that can help educate the consumer about each new ball that comes out.  (Brunsnick is very good as well he just does exclusively Big B...)

No, I think your video's show more style substance also on different lane conditions and comparison's in the same ball line. G-3 and FMG for instance.

Suggestion.  Why not try to find another bowler or two with a different type of technique in your area?  Say a pure stroker? A cranker?  A lefty?  You have tweener covered.

IMO....Buddies isn't adding much but that's just me.  Seems to me their video's are pretty much the same on the same lane condition.  Any thing looks good.  You show the difference between a miss left or right.

I appreciate your work on your website.  I don't see that Buddies adds anything but again that's just me.

agreed. I really like the slow motion shots here and there, but i really don't think there was even ONE shot on the fresh shot at regular speed. I do appreciate the videos as well though. plus it's somthing to do when i'm bored lol.

I decided to try something different in this and the Cell video.  I came up with the idea and tried it, I showed it to the rest of the guys at the shop and everyone thought that it showed the break point more clearly.  Since everyone has agreed that they do not like the shots like this, I will go back to the other way.  As for the Black Widow Bite and Solid being the same, this isn't true.  The Bite has more angle at the break point then the Solid, and the Break seems to get through the front part of the lanes a bit cleaner.

As for the videos being the same, if you have suggestions for the videos you can always email me.  We have no control over the lane conditions, and being able to change patterns, we have been after our center for years to let us shot on different shots, but it hasn't happened.  As for the variety of bowlers, our staff has a variety of different styles, and we always give the option to the ball companies to pick who they want to throw their balls.  If they sent a case of balls for every video, then you would see 4 different styles in the same video.

Videos serve no purpose whatsoever, especially on house patterns.

Looks just like every other ball you see in a video, they all hook and strike on every shot.

Put the hands in fidge knuckler, the ball would rev up  about
3 times as it was yanked into the hole and strikes every shot.

Total waste as this is only a dog and pony show to get you to buy the ball.

and still everyone likes to see them.

I think it would be nice to see some comparisons.  Take a look at the videos that Billy O does for Brunswick.  All of his layouts are identical, so that's not an issue.  But, he almost always throws a different ball on the same line to give us an idea of what the difference is.   The Twisted vid that is out there is a good example.  Just an idea.  At least Buddies does vids, which is more than most sites offer.

What patterns would you like to see us throw these balls on? Most of the people that we speak to, ball on house shots.  There is no "standard" for tournament shots, so let me know what you think we should be bowling on, and we will try once again to go to the bowling center.

As for the comments that they all look the same, when you do as many videos as we do, you are going to have the same balls reactions.  If we bowled on a sport pattern with every ball, I am guessing in a couple of months, you would see the same ball reactions for certain balls when you compared them on a sports shot. It happens. We are trying to show what a specific layout on a house shot will do, which is what most bowlers bowl on. I also feel that a skilled tournament bowler will be able to judge from the reaction that they see on a house shot how this ball will be able to fit into their game.

I think something that would be cool to see in a video would be more of a comparison. For instance, with the Black Widow original vs. the Black Widow Bite, it would be cool to see what the original would do on the same line as the Bite. Showing a few shots with the original and the Bite on the same line would give the viewer an idea of the difference in strength and roll. Brunswicks videos show this if you have seen one of their videos you would understand what I mean. Then show a move with the original to give it the right line to the pocket. Just a thought.

Britton does the comparison (which I think is nice), but he changes the line so they both strike, maybe show how one ball would not want to react or over react on that same line as the other. That might give a viewer a better understanding of what each ball does. It might show people that there really is a difference between the widow and the bite, etc.

Hello

Again thanks to everyone for their advise and criticism.

We have just shot new video clips comparing the Black Widow Pearl, The Black Widow Solid, and The Bite. This will allow everyone to see the differences in each ball. We also analyzed the ball motion using digitrax to give everyone the exact #'s. This video should be built and put up later tonight. Hope this helps everyone out.
