just gave mine a roll today for the first time.  5" pin and 45 degree MB. balance hole on the PAP.  extremely clean through the heads, not unlike my Track Desert Heat, but when it hits the dry, it really does a hard left turn.  hook is very late and continuous through the pins, and had fantastic hit and carry, mainly leaving 9 pins until i got the reaction under control.  does need the dry to react, but it gave me good area as it recovered from anywhere out wide and held all day if pulled slightly.  bowled a 279 with my second game and was most impressed.  a great addition to my arsenal.

It’s bush league psych-out stuff! Laughable, man!

I just had the ball drilled up tonight. I threw a few games with it and was totally disappointed. The ball is drilled to go long with a hard snap on the backend. The lanes were pretty dry so I thought I could wheel the ball. I was wrong. I played straight up with it a few times and the just keep going and going and never moved. Im not sure if its the drilling or what. I had the same problem with the Bite. Maybe I should change pro shops. Ive been waiting for this ball only to be disappointed.

I drilled the ball last weekend.Ball is drilled pin above middle finger. Bowled a tourney this weekend i got 9th out like 40 some not good. My first game i stood 28 then i moved a board left the next game 244. My third game the ball hooked to much went high 9 pin moved left again went back 10 and left a 4-9 288. 755 out of box isnt bad. This ball goes long and when it gets to the breakpoint its like someone kicks it left. My new favorite ball from hammer

Likes: With the polish the ball does get down the lane better than the Black Widow Bite with a very similar motion in the backend. Has a very cool looking color combination, probably the best looking out of all the Widows.
Dislikes: Rolls to close to my Black Widow Bite, out of the box I threw the ball past the break point and had to apply surface, when I did that it was Identical to my Bite.

Lay Out: 3 3/8 X 4

Black Widow Venom is simply a polished version of the Black Widow Bite. If you are looking for the same reaction just slightly later on the lane, this is exactly what you need. Speed dominate players will throw it past their breakpoints but when you add surface it rolls just like a Bite, so you are better off getting the Black Widow Bite to start. Softer speeds will like the Venom better because it won't burn up so bad in the front part of the lane or when it drys out.

Comparing What's In My Bag:

Black Widow Bite Drilled the same rolls earlier with the same motion in the back end.

Angular One with same pattern gets down the lane better with a much sharper angle to the pocket.

First Impressions:

This ball definitely showed me a stronger version of the BWP. The downside to it was it reminded me alot of the Bite just with polish. The ball started burning up quite soon however, on a positive note, I could stand direct and not have to worry about the ball going through the beak.

Comparison/Contrast:

BWV vs. BWP

Both are quite clean through the heads whereas, the Pearl had the best reaction out of any Black Widow I've thrown. The Venom still tended to react sooner and burn up through the heads versus the Pearl that had great motion downlane and gave me tremendous backend reaction!

BWV vs. BWB

The Venom is a great compliment to the Bite and burns up just as much also! If you seek backend reaction more, the Venom is the preferred choice in my opinion.

Final Thoughts:

The Venom provides clean through the heads with exceptional backend performance yet, tends to burn up the more it is played in the puddle on a typical house shot

I heard that this ball is suppose to be like the pearlize version of the Bite. I would have to definitely agree. Compared to the Bite it saves more energy for the backend. The Bite for me rolled way too early and rolled out. The Venom on the other hand has the strong mid lane roll and a continuous backend.

I bowled a tournament at an old wood house. The condition was a typical house shot with OB 6 and out to the gutter. You had to think old school bowling on these lanes. For example, i would lay one shot down and the ball would roll super early and hook up. Then i would make a move left and the ball would go straight. I then remember back in the days how the wood would soak up and dry up in certain spots. I moved back to my normal spot where the ball hooked early and just threw it over the lay down spot i threw the ball previously. The ball sat online, and just rolled up and killed the pocket. The Venom fit great for this pattern since there was a good amount of volume up front and a very gradual backend.

I would say that the Venom is a great combo with the Black Widow Pearl. The best surface i like this ball is at 2000 abralon. I have to say that Jeff U @ Hammer is awesome. He gives great advice and suggestions. Jeff was a perfect replacement for Brian Graham.

best hammer ball I owned 2 years Ago.The Black widow venom Is a great hammer ball it on a house shot.My Black widow venom is sanded and now it is my last resort ball on all sport shots and house shot if my other balls Don"t work that right for me that day. Over all a great ball
