What is a good ball to have for this sort of lane condition. The lane condition i usually bowl on is like i would say med. i have a BWP but after the first couple games i keep moving in father and farther following the oil then all of a sudden its starts to not come up to the pocket. i have it with the OOB finish with the polish and it works well until this happens. do u guys have any good suggestions for this.i thought about sanding it down to like 2000 but wasn't sure and i don't have a ball spinner so i cant experiment to much.O i have also heard a lot of people say they had good luck with like a hybrid cover stock would this be a route to take?

I have had this happen to me several times.  I've found that the best way to play this is to switch balls to something that will push further down lane and stay outside of the carry down/middle.

I'm not sure if changing the cover to a lower grit on your BWP will allow you to keep moving inside on this type of condition. It really depends on how bad the carry down is inside.  I have bowled on conditions like this and switching to a NO MERCY(best ball for carry down i've ever seen) was all that was needed to keep moving inside.  However, i've also been on conditions like this where the carry down and or heavy long oil in the middle was impossible to get a ball to recover from.

I just think the best bet is to make a ball switch.  If a ball switch can't be possible because of lack of equipment then make hand position changes to keep you outside of the crap!

what ball would u suggest to stay outside the carry down. like a cherry vibe or blue vibe? with a length layout anything above fingers?

You could also slow your speed down and let it read the lane sooner. Alot of house shots will allow you to mover back to the right and go around the carry down.

Don't buy a ball because you can't get your old one to work, you shouldn't change the coverstock of one either for carry down. The easy thing to do is move right (if right handed) I would say 1 - 2 boards every shot and hit the same break point down the lane till you find your self in the pocket. If you are playing a stroker line now then 1) put more revs on the ball or 2) slow the ball speed down.

WRW JR said not to switch balls, adjust to what your using. Its less confusing. Which is very true.

A vibe would be a good choice for a step down from the BWP.

The other posters gave you some good advice.  If you already have a ball that's weaker than the BWP then see if that works.  I also agree you don't have to go out and buy a ball just for that condition.  A sinple hand position change and or change in ball speed may do the trick.  The idea is to play the lane pattern where it's playable.  Someitmes moving further inside is not always the best bet.

I'm not sure if your talking about a walled up house pattern or a more difficult pattern?  I usually see this type of problem on a tough pattern that has oil outside.
