I havent thrown either, but on hammer's site the blue vibe has a slightly higher hook rating than the purple, and the cherry is supposed to be similar to the purple (http://www.hammerbowling.com/tech_info/info.php).

the cherry would not be a good dry lane ball unless you out a very weak drilling on it.. I have thrown the Blue and Cherry and for me, the Cherry is stronger..

i have the cherry and the blue vibe drilled the same. Blue hooks like 3-5 ft earlier but doesnt have as much boards in backend that the cherry vibe does. i would pick the cherry for lighter oil tho since it goes longer just gotta control it

WHat ball you want to got to depends entirely what ball you're having trouble with and what kind of trouble you're having.

If you're looking for a vibe to go for lanes drier than you have now, the general consensus is that there's not a large enough difference from one to another, with the Blue being SLIGHTLY earlier with less backend, almost as if it's a solid and the other two, Purple and Cherry, are pearls. Basically pick your poison. None of them are appropriate for TRUE dry lanes. You need plastic/polyester.

I've had the same reservations about the Cherry, but as my arsenal stands now I don't have anything nearly as weak as the Vibe anyhow.  Mean, Power, Inertia, and a Vendetta PP (this last turned out to be MUCH stronger than I expected, my arsenal is overlap city right now!).  So I may pick one up anyhow.

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...
