Feedback on the Epidemic
« on: August 25, 2011, 05:04:43 PM »
For those that have been throwing the Epidemic, how do you like it? Good compliment to the Taboo? Have you changed the surface or oob?  I'm thinking of getting one soon but would like some honest feedback. .

I know it sounds like I'm in denial, but I'm not.

Nobody has any comments on this ball?

I think your profile picture is scaring away the comments.

The ones we have drilled so far are long and very angular off the spot.  Haven't done any surface changes.  If your taboo is dull, then this would be a good compliment.  Would roll better for most people after the lane transitions and you see some breakdown in the track with a a little carrydown.

The Epidemic would be a good compliment to the Taboo. The Epidemic is much cleaner through the front of the lane and more motion down the lane. Also take a look at the Arson and Ebonite's Signals. Good balls and compliments also.

I have both...The Epidemic is definately more Angular and harder off the spot. I do have them drilled fairly similar the Epidemic has the Mass Bias at a larger angle off of the vertical center of my grip. The pin position is a lilbit above and to the right of my ring finger. I really just learning to play around on the lanes, I can honestly say I can play deeper with this ball than any other I've had.

I have both the Taboo & Epidemic with the same drilling. Both balls are at box finish and the Taboo is much stronger overall, but the Epidemic is much cleaner with a big backend motion. I think that if drilled the same, you will definitely like the combination of the two balls which compliments each other well. The great thing about the Epidemic is that I can keep moving left and the ball still turns the corner when the pattern breaks down. I hope this helps & let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the replies!  I was thinking about drilling the Epidemic the same as my Taboo. My friends shop has a couple of cases coming in soon and he said I could have first choice.  Seems like people been having good experiences with them, but please continue to post, good or bad. Mahalo!
