Here's a link to Hammer's video of the Grape Vibe which compares it to the Midnight Vibe.

I've had the same question. From the video it seems they wanted to recreate a more skid-snap look, but give a different look versus the Midnight. I have a Cherry and it is smoother off the friction than the Grape appears and the Grape looks like it handles more oil. I have a Blue also and this might be a great fit between the Blue and Cherry. For those with an Onyx, I'd assume this would be the ball when you need more length after a few games.

Thoughts?

They've been going towards more skid/snap ever since the Cherry Vibe.
The Emerald was more skid/snap than the Cherry which was on the even side.
Then the Midnight was so much more skid/snap than the Emerald, it was rated at medium oil,
instead of medium-light that all previous Vibes were for.
Now the Grape is even more skid/snap (according to Hammer's own numbers) than the Midnight.
And unless you're really speed dominant, you couldn't use it for less than true Medium oil.

The Grape is going to be a tad longer with more pop down lane compared to the Midnight. The Cherry had a lot of mid lane roll for a pearl. I would say the Grape is a little closer to the Emerald but not as jerky. Hope this helps.

In the vid the ball looks more like the Grind then it does the picture.

Ask Jeff Ussery! He was bowling to the right of me Friday night at the Pinnacle and he was using one. He has a lot of hand and was hooking the whole lane with one!!!!

from the horses mouth... Ebonite Rep John Gaines said, "Grape is stronger than Midnight Vibe but not as strong as the Onyx Vibe, the Onyx started up the earliest... the Midnight the latest... Grape will be right inbetween."

I know John Gaines, too, and trust his word implicitly. If he said it, it's gospel! Might be my next ball then between my Blue and Cherry.
