Hammer Acid (Mini-review)
« on: March 17, 2009, 03:01:49 AM »
I drilled up an ACID last Friday.

ACID LAYOUT, OOB surface

I'm lefty, my speed about 16-17 mph, revs about 350.

I used the ball on Medium Oil, on beat up Guardian (read: Swiss cheese).
Played the lanes, standing 24-25, 16-17 at the arrows, out to 8 board (most shots, one ball out to 5 board).

Packed the front 11, drifted on the 12th ball, brooklyned 5-8....298.
Just a little embarrassed.

I have a bad AC in my bowling shoulder, and was really surprised how well this ball went down the lane. Smooth and continuous.

Shot 218 the 2nd game, with 4 spares mixed in with strikes.

Last game 141...shoulder was really hurting...switched to the RAZYR.
Razyr was hit and miss, mostly due to operator error.

The Acid is a winner...in the hands of a healthy bowler.

Rich, how does the ball compare to your Storm equipment?

Frank,
It's stronger on the backend than my Rapid Fire, Street Rod Solid, or my Rapid Fire Pearl...seems to retain energy longer.
If I miss left with the Acid it has more recovery than those 3 balls.
I'm thinking of drilling a Psycho, also.

I think you'd like the Acid.

Richard,

Congrats on the 298! Excellent bowling. While the correct ball always helps, it's never the ball that does the bowling!

Jeff,
Thanks...haven't had the front 11 in league for a couple of years...it was fun!

I wasn't rolling the ball that well..Everyone around me thought I was, though...
But, what do they know...only the bowler know how he's really releasing it.

The Acid is very forgiving.

Rich, that's a pretty strong ball to be more on the backend than your Storm equipment.  Maybe you found a good all around ball for your game?

I just bought a Cherry Vibe.  I hope this ball is as good as the BV was for me.  I'm also picking up the Cell pearl, Rouge Cell and Cell in a couple weeks.

I hope Hammer comes out with the Black Vibe that's being talked about.

Frank, Check your PMs.

I think the Cells will be great for your game.
Don't know about the Cherry Vibe, I know a lot of bowlers at EG are using the Emerald Vibe. Dave shot 821 using his Emerald.

Brunswick,Lane#1,Morich,Hammer,Ebonite,Columbia,AMF,Storm,RotoGrip,Track......they all leave ten pins, I swear after I try dynothane and lanemaster if the ten pin is still there I might begin to think it might just be
me...... (finally decided to add a signature)

It reminds me of the original Danger Zone, in my hands.
It could do no wrong.
