Just saw this review.. looks great!

Now all I'm wondering is if this can slot between the Scandal Pearl and Mission Unknown, and I'll be set. I love how this peels off the spot, and looks so damn pretty!

But with the BW Gold and the Scandal Pearl having the same coverstock, the core, finish, and specs of the ball would be the only difference and I'm worried about overlap.

Would anyone think there would be room in a bag that already has the Maverick, Scandal, Scandal Pearl, Mission Unknown, and GB2 MVP (for the benchmark), outside of just being an asymmetric pearl to balance the symmetrics in the bag?

Deciding between this piece and the honey badger is a tough decision.  ::)

The Scandal Pearl cover stock has carbon fiber in it and the BW Gold doesn't.  Not sure how much this affects things.  Probably not much ball action wise (ding wise a whole lot) but the different cores sure do.
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

From our experience, the Honey Badger is cleaner and more angular than the Black Widow Gold. The Black Widow Gold should be a tad stronger and smoother than the Honey Badger.

You might want to check Hammer official website to find out about the Black Widow Gold specs:

The BW Gold has CFI in the coverstock.

What you're getting confused on is that with the 3 overseas releases the BW Gold had, one was not CFI, and one was a spare ball, while the 3rd was CFI. The one being released in the US has CFI in the coverstock.

Way I understand it the carbon fiber is in the core on the BW Gold which is true of most hammers these days.  The talker on the Scandal Pearl lists the coverstock as Semtex Pearl CFI.  The talker on the BW Gold lists the coverstock only as Semtex Pearl.  My understanding is at least for the moment Hammer only puts carbon fiber in the coverstocks of its high performance line (Scandals, Gauntlet).  Maybe this is the first ball in the lower lines to get it too though.

Look for the tough tech cover icon on top right corner of only the high performance balls. - http://www.hammerbowling.com/products/balls  (almost all the balls with the 3yr warranty icon on bottom left corner have CFI in the core I believe, open the talkers of even the lower lines and you will see carbon infused mentioned as well but talking about the core).

(edit: again how much this matters for anything but aesthetics (less dings) I can't really speak too, but Hammer does a poor job of explaining it)

Yeah, I'm not seeing any mention of the Black Widow Gold having a Semtex Pearl CFI coverstock either, just Semtex Pearl like the Phobia.

Agreed. BW Gold just has regular Semtex Pearl like the Phobia. It doesn't have the CFI cover like the Scandals

From the video it does look more angular than the limited USA color version like a stronger version of the red legend pearl that will handle more oil

random question but I see all the talk about how smooth this is being. So why not advertise that then the most angular backend to date if they have all these balls that are more angular.  Im not trying to be a troll or smart a** just curious. as I was something quite angular and was trying to decide between this and no rules pearl.

BW Gold is about as unsmooth (flippy) as Hammer gets.  Only a handful of balls like the Tyrant Pearl by any manufacturer more flippy.

see that was the impression I had especially from the adverts on it but then I seen several reviews talking about how smooth and stuff  all the widows were and especially the gold.
