Infection, Infinite Theory, or Mission 250K
« on: March 10, 2011, 02:54:55 AM »
I have Taboo that I like very much. I need a ball to go underneath it. I'm thinking the Infection first and then the Infinite Theory and maybe a Mission 250K. Or should I just drill another Taboo to go longer and change the cover? I might as well throw in the Anarchy to. Which on will be more continuous on the back end and clear the heads easier? I appreciate any opinions.

BigHorn...

You said underneath your Taboo and to me that means when the lanes change you want something a bit weaker. I  really like the Midnight Vibe. This ball gets through the heads great and has a lot more back end movement than I thought it would have. My wife would get into trouble when the lanes broke down and her strong equipment would either over hook or roll out. Her Midnight Vibe with pin above fingers, and 5" from her PAP was the perfect fit for her. This drill gives her a nice roll and arc to the pocket, very continuous and great hit. My Midnight vibe is drilled more label leverage with pin right of ring finger. This gives me the arc movement on the back end and keeps hook smooth but revs up early and gets through the heads clean. I think the Infection is a great ball and would choose it before buying  a second Taboo. Doug Sterner who posts on here and loves his Infection and can tell you more about it than I can or maybe he will post some comments on here for you. I usually don't comment on something that I don't have in my arsenal.

The Infection is the step down in the Hammer product line. Much cleaner through the front part of the lane with just as much recovery once the Taboo stops working. Like stated earlier Doug Sterner has found a lot of success with the Infection and would be another good person to ask. Hope this helps

How do you have your Infection and Plague drilled? Is it the same drill as your Taboo? What is the difference in reaction between the two? Thanks

BigHorn...

I drilled the INFECTION, but i drilled with the idea  this ball come to be stronger than my virtual energy and is weaker than my virtual energy, the big diference is the hit on the pins is better than the energy.

i think this ball is what u want, but drilled the same like ur taboo, the infection go longer than the taboo, principal the infecton is 4000 abralon, and taboo is 2000 (both out the box).

Im looking for a ball for heavy oil, what do you think between TAboo, Nano, jigsaw trap???

Thanks for the reply ML bowler. I have had a chance to see the Infection up close and it is strong also but, it can be used on the house shot without changing the cover or drilling it to weak. The Taboo needs oil. It is of no use to me on the house shot for even one game. Unless I polish it but, I didn't get it for that anyway. I don't think you could got wrong with any one of three balls for heavy oil that I have seen. Those three are the Taboo, World Beater and the Nano. The Nano has more backend then the other two. Next the Taboo and then World beater has more control. Hope this helps
