Jigsaw -vs- Bounty
« on: August 22, 2009, 08:03:48 AM »
Hello Group

Was wondering how these balls might compare to each other. The reason I ask is I have a NIB Bounty in the garage and since I have been throwing and loving Hammer I now want the Jigsaw.

What a dilemma, huh so anyway, if anyone has thrown these two great balls what were your feelings about them. Anyone want to trade a (15lb) NIB Bounty for a (15lb) NIB Jigsaw?

Thanks, Jake

I'd like to hear people's opinion on this, too. I was looking at the Bounty Hunter vs. the Jigsaw.

I owned the original Bounty, and I now own a jigsaw (I had to get one). The bounty was more like a storm dimension, meaning an earlier rolling ball then the jigsaw. The bounty could handle a fair amount of oil, but the jigsaw is in a totally different class. The jigsaw is the first ball i've thrown that get into a roll into early in the midlane and still has alot of backend.. all while retaining lots of pop/continuation through the rack. I didn't like the bounty at all, but I know many that have absolutely killed with that ball. The jigsaw is worlds stronger though, it depends what you are looking for. I would say smooth even reaction.. go Bounty. If you want something that will handle alot of oil and still allow you to open up the lane... Jigsaw hands down! I have yet to find a condition where the jigsaw will roll out like the Bounty does when there is not enough oil!

Hmm..Lets see what I have in this bag...some virtual gravity, some hot sauce, a liberator, and a saw.. how can I loose....

I will take the Bounty Hunter over the Jigsaw. I didn't care for the original Bounty, but the Bounty Hunter is special. I haven't cared for what I have seen in the Jigsaw. But everything is personal opinion.

Thanks Tizzle. Also, it looks like I have a buyer for my NIB Bounty so I will be ordering a Jigsaw this next weekend.

imo the bounty was like a dimension, or mega friction.. early rolling and continuous.. the jigsaw is more like a vg longer and harder rolling off the spot..

The Jigsaw is oob at 4000 a-pad,  the same with the new Bounty Hunter...
The Bounty was more like a 1000 a-pad...

And the core strength is probably stronger on the new models....

Also check out the new Full Swing....  Don't confuse this monster with anything old like the Power Swing or Momentum Swing.

This ball is a big backend ball...  Also oob at a 4000 a-pad...

I had the bounty hunter as well, it was ok I guess. I could always find the pocket with the ball, but it always would leave single pins. No where near the carry of the jigsaw.. not even close at least for me.

My teammate has the Bounty Hunter and im very impressed with the ball. He plays up the boards and once the ball finds the 1/3, it hits very hard. No one in my area has brought a Jigsaw just for the simple fact their is not enough oil to throw the ball. I want one really bad but cannot make up my mind if I want to replace my Dimension and get the JS or get the BW Sting and replace my BW Solid!

Yup, I feel ya dawg!! the Black Widow Sting looks superb also. Seems like Hammer has been putting out some really great choices for ball selections.

Btw, Just got my BTM mag and it only gave the Jigsaw 8/9/9.5 rating and the month before it gave the Black Widow Sting a 9/9.5/9.5.

The Black Widow Sting looks like a really great ball for the price as its a little cheaper than the Jigsaw....I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place between these two balls.

BigJake,

I feel you brotha!!! Man im in such a dilemma with which ball to get and plus I dont know if I want to get the Burn or Onyx Vibe. My brain hurt just as bad as my pockets. I think im leaning towards the Sting, but if i bowl a tournament or two, then I wont have that heavy oil ball that i need.

I've seen the Sting and The Jigsaw a lot recently and decided on the Jigsaw. It looks more versatile.

That being said the Jigsaw was Hooking a ton. The few times I saw one of Hammers staff guys throwing it. He switched to the Burn for more length and controlled back ends.

I should have my jigsaw by next week.

Hello Hammer Friends

I just called my Pro Shop Pimp and he said that he got a 15lb JigSaw in...so I ordered it instead of the Sting and he's drilling it for me as we speak (YES!!!)

Stay tuned, I might be able to throw it tonight
