Layout question for Cobalt Vibe
« on: March 12, 2014, 08:12:57 PM »
Just ordered a cobalt vibe and an iq fusion and wanted to get some advice on how to drill it. I have a taboo blue/silver drilled pin above the fingers and was thinking about drilling the iq fusion pin under the ring. Would drilling the vibe pin above my middle finger be too drastic between the fusion and vibe? I've used this drilling on an emerald vibe and had success before, but wanted to get your input.

Thanks.

Just drilled a cobalt vibe last week.  Pin above fingers on centerline.  Very surprising ball.  I can play direct with it on hooking conditions, but also scored well on flat long pattern.  Key for me is that it never forces me to cover a lot of boards, even with my slower ball speed.  Pin up above ring finger or even slightly toward center line is great for me.

Bowled very well with it on USBC team pattern last week.  Also bowled well on a very demanding 42 foot pattern.  Much better ball on flatter patterns than on house shots.

Not knowing your specs... I would drill the Cobalt the same way you drilled the Emerald Vibe... the ball reaction is very similar between the 2 Vibes.

Pin down on the IQ Fusion would be a good fit as this ball is impressive from what I have seen on the lanes.

Hope this helps!
