Phobia...
« on: January 03, 2017, 02:20:45 PM »
I want to see the Phobia compared to the Scandal Pearl, Primal Fear, and Dare Devil.

Thoughts?

I'm guessing Scandal Pearl > Primal Fear > Phobia > Dare Devil in terms of overall strength.

I have the Fear and Code Black so probably no way for me to justify picking one up but hmm....wish they would throw Semtex Hybrid on it sooner than later.

I would rank them as Scandal Pearl > Phobia > Dare Devil > Primal Fear in terms of overall strength. The two Hammer balls at the top for sure at least. Dare Devil and Primal Fear are probably pretty comparable.

In terms of fitting with the Code Black and Primal Fear I don't think the Phobia or Dare Devil offer enough of a difference for adding either of them to make sense. Scandal Pearl is a different animal though, especially compared to the Code Black. It would fit well between the latter and your eventual Jackal Ghost, even if a bit of surface had to be added.

I think I agree with CoorZero. The Scandal Pearl seems to be the strongest of those 4. I think the other three are pretty similar with the Primal Fear maybe being slightly longer. The cover on the Dare Devil is pretty aggressive and I think the Phobia will be very similar to the Dare Devil

True, it might be the Phobia and Dare Devil that are most similar with the Primal Fear still sitting a bit below them.

That is interesting. That Fear seems quite strong so the Phobia is probably going to be a beast of a ball. I'm intrigued by the idea of the Scandal Pearl thrown between the Code and Ghost, hmm.

According to the thread below, the Phobia seems to be stronger overall than the Code Black:

Was handling a phobia today. The ball is sanded feeling. Very lil polish.  The others are polished. The ball might have more bite than u think boys!

Felt sanded!

Info on ball says polished but didn't seem that way at all!
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]

I can't take this beast out of my hand! This ball is really clean with great angularity into the pocket. I am a stroker, rev rate 280, ball speed 15.5, pap is 4 1/4 over and 3/4 up. I play up the boards and I have 100% confidence in this ball in the 2 houses I bowl in. Those who know me are well aware of how much I adore this ball. My pin up is my favorite right now (55x5x30).. This ball strikes for days for me!

+1 on this order.

I'm seeing Code Black, Dare Devil, Phobia. They do not compare the Fear, but I'd put it longer and stronger than Phobia and the Paranoia as being similar to the Phobia.

With regard to those three videos, the phobia does look the weakest on the backend. However, I can't help but wonder if that is because it is burning up a little bit due to its earlier roll and the fact that the pattern used in those videos is only 30 feet in length.

Pattern is 38'. It's not burning up. It's just smoother than the other 2.

Just noticed you have the Phobia below the GB2 Phenom Pearl? Tried them on something heavier than THS to test oil handling or is this referencing backend movement on THS?

I have both the Phobia and the Phenom Pearl
Definitely have the Phenom pearl stronger than Phobia
It's the strongest cover yet on a GB2 ball
