Polished NM?
« on: May 10, 2008, 12:59:57 PM »
Just wanted some feedback from those of you who have polished their No Mercy.  I have the #1 drilling, and am finding on some conditions, it just does not want to hook, even on a fresh 41 foot house pattern with med/heavy oil.  On the same conditions, my Pain and quite often even the Doom will react better and hook powerfully at the break point.

My suspicion is that it is not retaining energy for the back-end, as it does not appear to be 'revving up' at all and just rolls through the dry boards.  I have taken it down to 2000 grit before, but it seemed to just lope down the lane, so it is back to 4000 now.

Will a polished NM become a more versatile ball for me?  And will it still be able to handle the med/heavier oil?

It’s bush league psych-out stuff! Laughable, man!

It does sound like your NM is burning up.  Adding polish will increase it's length a good distance while conserving it's energy.  I would give it a try because you can always change it back.
