Switching from Storm to Hammer products
« on: May 18, 2011, 04:02:11 AM »
I'm dropping down to 15lb. equipment from Storm 16lb. I'm looking for suggestions for filling up my Hammer arsenal. I already have a Taboo and midnight Vibe. I'm told that I'm a tweener style bowler. I've been really considering the Infection but any recommendations would be appreciated.

Although they're recently discontinued, I'd suggest the Burn and Grind.  Probably wouldn't be hard to get your hands on them.

The Grind is a  smooth rolling ball that is very controllable - perfect for those "hard to figure out" conditions.

The Burn goes long and flips strong...but not too strong, if you know what I mean.

Both are a good value.

for a nice 5 ball arsenal i would suggest the taboo, infection, midnight vibe possibly with surface, grape vibe and blue hammer remake to double as a spare ball

depends on what he is bowling on.
lots of patterns, 5 is fine. house shots, 3 is fine.
never carry more than 3 balls with you for league. its a rule i live by.
my opinion tho.

What Hammer ball would be the closest replacement for my Truama ER Storm ball?

honestly i have no idea.
I was never into any of the old Storm stuff.
Everything in the Mid-range and higher will out hook it tho.
hard to say, hard to compare.
sorry.

By the numbers, your Taboo already covers RG and diff, but the Taboo is stronger overall with the coverstock. I wouldn't look to replace it, but take what you have an fill in the gaps between the Taboo and Vibe.
