Pin 4-1/2 from PAP

Condition:
10 year old plus Brunswick Synthetic
Six and out med
7 to 7 light to med
Clean backends

Yesterday was the first time i threw the Blue Vibe. The condition was similar but way lighter than it usually is. I left the cover OOB finish which is pretty smooth like 2000 abalon. I threw my first couple of shots in practice way outside and the ball cleared the heads with ease and arced down the lane and set. It hit like a mad truck. I tried an up the back release and it went straighter but still came up. I was very impress how it responded to different hand postiions. Excellent.

When the lanes started to break down and dried out forcing me to play closer to the gutter, i had to really go up the back release with less grip pressure and up my speed to about 17 mph. If you grabbed it a tiny bit or gave it any side turn the ball would grab early and set through the nose. The backends had a little carry down which if you pulled it, it didn't snap left, it gradually went left. Over all it was an interesting night.

I favor this Vibe over the Original Purple Pearl. The Blue Vibe is smooth rolling with a controlled backend reaction where as the Purple Vibe was more snappy.

Everyone should have this type of ball in their arsenal or tournament bag.

I was looking for a ball for my third league which is typically very dry and is almost a reverse block pattern.  My pro shop guy recommended the blue vibe.  Had it drilled label to go very long, and it does!  However, the back end was probably more than I was looking for if it's too dry.  This ball is the most snappy ball I've ever thrown if you don't follow the oil.  You can get over/under with it if you aren't careful.  Ok, enough of the drawbacks.  If the condition is right, this ball is the best ball in my back.  It really does eat up the medium to dry condition and hits HARD.  You won't leave many tens with this ball.  This one is a really high performing ball for the price and you will like the minimal upkeep.

I bought this ball as I am a league newbie and was told it would be good for the conditions we play under

154 average (only been bowling for 18 weeks so am still learning and gathering confidence)

14lb 3oz
3.5" Pin
Had drilled in a high RG Medium layout with pin directly under middle finger.
3000 Abralon finish

Speed 16-16.5 mph
Rev's - medium
Lane Surface - Synthetic
Typical Oil Conditions for league- medium to bone dry

4 game league

Game 1 - typically a medium oil surface, I start by throwing 12 out to 6 (where boards are dry) and get a really smooth arc from mid-lane into the pocket.  I tend to leave alot of 10 pins with this ball on medium lane conditions.  This ball hits the pocket hard and carries through the pins really well.

Game 2 - start moving from 15-17 out to 6 as the lanes are drying up.  This is where the ball seems to be coming in.....At about 45-48 ft as the carry-down dries up, the ball seems to come alive.  I am getting a really strong arc into the pocket.  with 5 man teams, I find myself moving 1 board every 4 frames or so at this point

Game 3 - severe oil breakdown.  Change line from 22-25 out to about 10 (varies dependant on my speed.  Break at 45 ft becoming more angular with the dry surface conditions.  Hits pins like a freight train and find myself leaving fewer 10 pins.

Game 4 - bone dry (thanks to us playing behind a Saturday afternoon league) - Ball is at its best.....Ball carries well down the lane and breaks hard into the pocket.  I am, at this point throwing from about the 30 out to 10 with sharp break at about the 48-50 foot mark.  If I don't get it down lane and out to the 10, I find myself coming back across the head pin.

Needless to say, this ball is a great ball for drier lane conditions.  It gets down the lane and still has enough backend to slap the pocket hard and drive the pins home....I am not impressed with its performance on oily lane conditions; however, that is not what this ball is meant for.  If you need a good dry lane ball, this one will do you fine....Cheap and performs as advertised...

So my girlfriend gets me this ball for V-Day and I'm very excited because at the time I assumed this ball would be a nice back up/spare for the black widow that i have.  well I had the ball drilled to go a little longer down the lane for a reaction late down the boards and WOW this thing made a big jump within the last 20 feet.  I'm typically a stroker style bowler and my ball has a smooth arc from the outside of the lane back into the pocket.  I ran into trouble on house lanes with having my black widow come back too early and cut through the nose (and sometimes hitting that brooklyn strike)  The VIBE is an awesome ball for worn down/house/dry lane conditions.  I don't think it would have enough to get through some of the stuff that the black widow will pull through but very impressive on house conditions.  the ball went long and came back with a lot of power.  I ended up increasing my revs with the vibe and moving pretty far left.  even when i threw the ball too far right, it still snapped back on the end of the lane for a solid pocket shot.  I personally underestimated this ball but I am VERY happy that I did.  the ball works very nicely.

well i am relatively new bowler with only three months under my belt. medium pace with a decent amount of revs on the ball. However, this is about a ball not me. got the ball drilled to go long with a snap to it and boy did i get it. on oil the ball wont loose any energy until it hits the dry and then it explodes into the pocket. What pin reaction this ball gets and the move to the pocket off the oil is legendary This ball is anything but a dry lane ball. what a ball by hammer.

Pin under ring, cg slightly off midline, box finish

Pros: Easy push through heads
      Smooth, predictable reaction
      Very solid hit & carry
      Nice looking ball

Cons: Slightly stronger than what some may expect

Overall: I'm very pleased with the results that I've seen from this ball. I picked it up in order to replace my Tropical Storm, and I got what I wanted. Compared to the Tropical, which was drilled pin next to ring, cg under ring, the Blue Vibe reads the lane a touch sooner and is smoother on the backend. Additionally, the Vibe hits much harder than the Tropical did. The Tropical seemed to just push the pins and let them tumble whereas the Vibe really just seems to rip right through them.

On a fresh shot, I can play up the boards from the outside, or, if the backends are clean, I can move inside as long as I make sure to hit the dry early enough at the breakpoint. When the lanes start to dry out a bit, you can move inside and swing this ball from anywhere. I haven't tried this ball on carrydown, but I think it would handle it fairly effectively, provided you square up enough.

So, in conclusion, if you're looking for a good all-around ball and don't feel like carrying a huge arsenal, pick up the Blue Vibe. It provides a nice all-around look that will fit nicely into the hands of most bowlers.

My PAP: 5 1/4" over by 3/4" up. 15-15.5 mph. Above average revs. I'd say I'm somewhere in between tweener and cranker.

Drilling: Pin over middle finger (5 1/2") cg near grip center (5")

Got this ball and put a fairly week drilling on it so that I could play a little straighter. I expected to have to move way right with it, and fire it up ten. I was very surprised when I found out just how much I have to swing it to get it to the pocket. Definitely different than what I expected, but a nice surprise to say the least.

THS: Definitely not skid/flippy by any means. Starts probably earlier than anything else I've got, but it doesn't stop. It still has a little kick on the backend, but it's more of a strong arc. Very predictible, consistent roll.

VERY forgiving ball. The hard-arcing motion lets me get away with A LOT of mistakes. Has enough backend to recover from the outside, but not too much that it doesn't hold on the inside. Love the reaction from this thing.

Don't be afraid to purchase a ball that advertised as "low performance" or "entry level." Trust me, the price is only thing "entry level" about it. Rolls really well and consistently, hits great, and carries like all Hammers.

Drilled label leverage. This ball was stronger than I expected. I keep it well polished so I can use it for outside angles on the shortest PBA and sport shot patterns. This ball glides through oil, reacts consistently off the dry and finishes with a continuous arcing motion. I am able to play outside longer than others as the ball does not overreact as the lanes transition. I have been very pleased with it's performance.

Layout - Stacked, pin 5 1/4" from PAP, cg in the grip middle

~15.5 mph., ~300 revs

I threw a 279 2nd game out of the box with this ball, and over the past 2 years this has been my go to ball.  It's a house shot killer.  Because I generally like to play down and in, I have had success with this ball at times on all of the PBA patterns and carries well on them.

The BV reads the midlane more than you might think, and like others have said, it makes a hard arc towards the pocket.  Mine doesn't snap even though I drilled it stacked.  It's a very forgiving ball.

The times I have had trouble with this ball is when there is a decent amount of carrydown or I get forced to move way left on a dried up house shot.  The ball will have a hard time carrying the corner pins with my style when this happens.

Layout- label drilling

18mph with around 350 revs

i bowled my first 300 with this ball and a 795 series. this ball is amazing. i was looking for a light to medium oil ball and this is it. i usually throw down and in with it and this ball glides thru the heads and once she hits the backend it snaps in. i wasnt expecting that much of a hard flipping backend with the ball but i like the way it reacts. it really makes the pins fly around. this ball also works well for inside angles too.

LANE CONDITION

Length: 38ft?

Volume: Medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS w/ ob

COMMENTS

Likes: First off I am a Tweener and this is a great ball for this type of bowler. This is mainly due to this ball's movement. It is the smoothest ball I have ever thrown, Hammer says backend, but this ball just transitions like a train smooth and pushes threw the pins very nicely. It is drilled Pin up and CG stacked. The one thing about this ball is how much more it hooks than it was supposed to. Also the carry with it is about average; because of the direct line I like to play, I can get in to trouble with ten pins, but small adjustments with this ball yield great results.

Dislikes: I can't say much bad about this ball it never stays at home with me and is the rock I lean on in my hardest bowling moments. The only complaint that I could possibly air is in my likes, and it is the fact that this ball is a lot stronger than it was supposed to be.

Sorry no pics or videos, theres been enough out there on this ball and I don't think you need to see this THB throw this ball.
