Given Roto Grip’s history of the “Golden Globe†and the “Spare Tireâ€, you’d think it would be difficult to continue to release inventive, great looking spare balls. Roto Grip’s most recent release, the Crown Polyester, does not disappoint and continues this great linage with its hand painted raised medieval graphics wrapped with a very clear polyester cover.
My Crown Poly was drilled over the label and was left in OOB condition, which is 3500 polished. It is great looking, goes very straight, and will see action as a spare ball and for toasty conditions when the entry-level equipment is still too strong.

I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t all that excited about this ball. I just needed a new spare ball, so I ordered one. What really surprised me was how cool this ball actually looks! It gets comments from all sorts of folks. It seems to share in some of the Mars’ iridescence and also keeps kind of a rugged medieval look at the same time.
We all know that all plastic balls perform in a pretty similar manner, so why not buy one that looks rad? Why not rep one of the top manufacturers on the tour last season? Why not declare yourself King of Them All?

There is only one word to describe this ball and that is COOL. It is the best looking spare ball i have ever seen. but to me it is not just a spare ball it also works really well on dry lanes. The house I bowl at has really really really strong backends. So at times all my other stuff is just to strong. when that happens I pull this baby out and just have a field day with it. This thing even for a plastic ball hits really hard. So if you are looking for a good hitting ball for super scorched lanes or a just a great looking ball. The RotoGrip crown is going to be your best bet. with that being said good luck and high scores to you all, nd remember RotoGrip is the KING of them ALL.

My Axis is 5 5/8 right, ¼ up, my speed is average and I would consider myself with higher revs but more up the back. So not a cranker but not really straight either.
Drilled straight up.
I am a believer of plastic. Don’t let the lane condition cause you to miss spares. Take the lane condition out of play for most spares and your spare game will be the same on all conditions. With that said, who says you can’t have a cool looking spare ball. Not only does it look cool, but it’s what you need to go straight.

Roto Grip CROWN CLEAR POLYESTER, 15LB
The Crown Polyester looks awesome. For me the CROWN is a spare ball. It goes straight where you throw it no matter the lane condition. I drilled the ball and have had tons of people ask what I was throwing at my spares. It is also a great looking ball on the shelf. It just sells itself. Roto Grip has made another great ball.

This is a sweet looking ball. It seems like a lot of polyester balls go too straight even when you move the CG and pin out. This ball will hook a little and works great for splits when you need that one or two boards of hook at the last second to kick a pin across the deck. This is one of the few spare balls that I have had where I can pick up both left & right side spares with the occasional split with no problem. This ball has become my new favorite spare ball aside from the RotoGrip Grenade. My Pin is 2 inches off center line with a hole.

Long awaited for this one. Anyone who has kept up with the Rotogrip lines including the international have been wanting this one. Great looking and straight. This ball turns heads and if you have only seen them in the pictures then you are surely missing out on this one. Pick one up and just use it as a conversation piece if you want cause this has it all. Whoever is doing the artwork on the cores needs a raise. Great job. Great Looking ball and no cracks or chips. Increase your spare percentage and the look in your bag today. What more could you ask for?

Once again the King of Them All has made one of the most highly visable spare balls.
This ball will catch the eye of all with the great graphic as well as being a highly reliable plastic ball that can be utlized for your spares with all lane conditions, and utilized as a strike ball on really dry land conditions. Can be drilled to get a bit of a hook.

The newest "plastic" ball addition to the Roto Grip line is the Crown Clear polyester. Of the clear polyester balls currently on the market, this is by far the sharpest looking of them all.
Recently I bowled 2 Sr PBA tour stops in Illinois and received many inquiries and positive comments on this ball. A few players said they might buy one and just keep it on display in their pro shops.
Technically, the ball has a 3500 grit surface, polished, with a low differential of .015. Its primary use would be for spare shooting or for bowling on extremely dry lanes. If you use it on an extremely dry surface, I think you will be surprised as to the hitting power of the ball.
Try it, you'll like it.

When I first saw the pictures of this ball, I didn't really have an interest as I have a couple spare balls to choose from, but as the chipping around the fingerholes of my Golden Globe continued to get worse, I decided to pick one up. This is truly a ball that the pictures don't do it justice. Much better looking in person than in a picture. Going down the lane, it probably won't turn too many heads, but sitting on the rack, definitely a showstopper. As far as performance, very straight, haven't tried it yet as a strike ball on dry lanes, but if you're in need of a spare ball, and like a little style as you bowl, this is definitely worth picking up.

Crown Polyester
One problem I have always had with my spares is I don't have a lot of ball speed and my ball tends to get into a real heavy roll on the backend. I have never been able to roll a ball perfectly straight so once it gets to dry boards it wants to grab. When shooting 10 pins I always have to flirt with gutter and when playing in different houses and different lanes you never know if the balls going to drop in the gutter, or hook past the pin. I decide with the Crown to take a ball with the pin in and drill it with the Pin/CG right on my track. I placed the weight hole 6 3/4 " from the grip center through the pin figuring the ball shouldn't flare anyway. It worked! I've have never had a ball that allows me to go as straight at a 10 pin before. I now have a ball that not only looks great, but works. The only question I asked myself is why didn't I do this years ago?

Roto Grip knows how to do a spare ball. The spare tire, the golden globe, now the Crown. It looks great on the pro shop shelf, and even better on the ball rack during your league. Everyone is impressed with what Roto Grip is doing not only with the entry, mid and high performance balls, but also with the spare balls. Keep it up, I can’t wait to see what is next.

I thought the Spare Tire got lots of looks when it 1st came out, but, the new Crown Polyester lights up the house. Even the ladies stop by to check out this pretty Crown Jewel.I leave it on the table for show & to help sales until I need to use it. This is the coolest looking spare ball made! It's a show stopper and I get comments all the time about how good the ball looks and it great for spares!!! It doesn't matter how many strikes you throw if you can't convert your spares, 10 pins for righties and 7 pins for lefties! This replaced my Globe spare ball, which I donated to a local bowler when I drill this and give me the same look and it even work great for a strike ball on burnt lanes. You can't be the King of Bowling without your Crown!!!!!

What can you say about a spare ball other than how it looks. The ball has some pretty cool colors. What has surprised me is how many comments I get on the ball. Guys in league the other night commented on its good looks and a kid watching me bowl the SASBA this weekend thought it was pretty cool looking, also.
I can say I haven’t chopped a spare with it yet. The only misses are self induced.

The pictures don't do this ball justice. This ball is a real attention getter from the wall in the pro shop, to the ball rack, to going down the lane.

Wow! That’s what I hear from everyone when they walk into the shop. It’s by far the most appealing ball on the wall. It attracts many customers brand new bowlers all the way to your scratch bowlers. It seems that whoever buys one, wants two. One to bowl with, and one at home. It just looks that good!

Besides being an eye-catching ball it is an effective spare ball and if you drill off label like I did The Crown can be an effective ball on extremely dry conditions. It also seems to be a very durable ball. like all spare balls mine has hit the channel a few time and there are no nicks or chips in it so it should be good for years of use.

All you can say is WOW when you walk in a pro shop and see the Crown Polyester on the shelf. Not only does it look amazing it also is very durable and goes very straight at your spares. If you want a ball that is different from other spare balls on the rack then you should get yourself a Roto Grip Crown Polyester and watch how many bowlers compliment your spare ball.

This ball is absolutely amazing! I have been a fan of RotoGrip for about a year now and this spare ball made the best impression to me about RotoGrip. I have left many splits and hard spares to pick up. Now I'm a lefty and picking up spares can be challenging for me at times. This ball makes every spare that much easier. I have made the 7-10 with this ball because it has exceptional pin carry. No matter what center i go to, it will be the same pin carry that comes with me making pins pop outta the gutter easily. I love Roto-Grip for coming out with a spare ball that is worth it, and it also looks cool going down lane.
