Title: bowling balls in dishwasher help

Hi all was wondering what the procedure was for running the ball in the dishwasher what to do and not to do. Thanks

I put mine in the dishwasher with the finger holes down. I use the normal amount of detergent and the high temperature water setting. Be sure to turn off the heated drying cycle. Remove when wash is complete. I usually try to remove the excess water from the finger holes. I have not had any luck trying to tape the holes.

Edited for content:  I see you are a lefty. This procedure might need to be done in a mirror or may not work at all.

I do the same thing as TT except that I shave down wine corks and put them in the holes and i don't have any problem with water in the holes.

Here's how I've done it, and it works great everytime:

1. put packing tape over finger and thumb holes
2. put the dishwasher on air dry- YOU DON'T WANT HEAT DRY!
3. put the ball on the bottom rack
4. I don't use any soap. Haven't tried it, but it works great without it.
5. turned on the dishwasher, and let it run it's cycle
6. after it was done, take off the tape, put it finger holes down, and let what little water that got in, run out.
7. take the ball back to the surface you'd like it at
8. take it to the lanes and score! looks great, performs great, what more could you want!?

I use a hair dryer and a box on low temp to pull the oil out of my stuff but since where I will be at this weekend there is a dishwasher it sounds alot less time consuming so thought I would give it a shot Thanks for the help guys
