Title: Log In
Post by: MI 2 AZ on May 04, 2012, 06:34:09 PM
I don't want to list this in the other thread because this is something that has just started happening the past few days.  When I log in, it says it is incorrect and sends me to another screen.  On both log in boxes, everything is already filled in, Username and password, and the password is just dots so I can't verify what it is.  I usually hit enter and even though I don't change anything, the second time it will log me in okay.  This has just started happening in the last three days or so, so I am not sure if it is something on my end or not.  I am using Firefox 3.16.18 as my browser, with Win XP Pro.

Also, this only happens the first time I try to log in per day.  I just logged out and back in without going to the error screen.

Can you get the text of the error and post it here?

In the same vein, I just got a login request, even though I selected "Forever".
I did not delete cookies or do anything similar on my PC. Is "Forever" just code for 2 weeks?  :)
Not a major concern, just curious.

I'm having almost the exact same issue as charlest with login's as well.  I have selected "forever" when I log in and mine usually lasts for, at most, a week..

are you deleting 'history' and form data?

I haven't really deleted anything as far as internet history, if that's what you are meaning.  I know when I do delete history, cookies and do basic internet maintenence etc it will prompt me to login, but it will prompt me to login again even when I havent and it appears to be random.  This is my work computer so i'm not too sure if things are going on in the background etc or if it's a BR issue.  I suspect it's my end but not 100%.

I will say i'm not very savvvy at computers and this particular type of thing, so operator error is a good possibility.  I may need to check something somewhere or change a setting?

I only have to log back in, after deleting form content. Nothing random here. I'd guess it's your network at work.

Nope. That's why I mentioned cookies.

One reason for any recent loss of Forever may be that BR-TECH rewrote the cookies after my last post,  so probably everyone had to Log In again.  It may help to clear your old cookies and see if that helps.

I am still experiencing the same problem as before.  I still get the Wrong Password and a new Log In box after my first attempt to Log In.

Sorry, Gary, no way I'm clearing all my cookies. I'd have to log back into every site I visit.  I'll suffer with logging into ballreviews every 2 or 3 weeks

You shouldn't have to log in again. The reason the login expired was because the cookie that holds your session had its name changed. Once you logged back in you should have received a new cookie with the correct name.

What browser are you using? Are you using auto-fill for your password?

Firefox.  Yes, it already has my password inserted (Just dots there).  When the new log in box shows up it already has that info too.  I just click on the Log In button both times, never changing anything.
