I bowled last weekend, the minor events was a little bit of a struggle to start with but once they broke down a little bit it wasn't to bad.

Good luck.....

I too will be bowling the minor events at 8 pm saturday, and team sunday at 4. I went up about a month ago, used my original taboo and went 671 in team, 683 singles, 699 doubles. Played pretty straight with surface (1500). The singles/doubles house was a little tougher as tank38 mentioned, but they are definitely hit-able. Carrying was my biggest problem the last time I went up.

Where are you from?

I bowled team event this past weekend which was the last weekend for the tournament at Idle Hour Lanes.  There is a no-tap tournament at South Side Lanes across town in Scranton which ends this weekend and is team and doubles.  They have an 800 jackpot daily which low to cash individual is 842 as of this past weekend and a 300 game bonus.  Here is a link to the flier: http://southsidebowl.com/bowling.asp?Page=31st+Annual+No-Tap (http://southsidebowl.com/bowling.asp?Page=31st+Annual+No-Tap)

How did you do this past weekend? I shot 658 for the singles ;D, then a 514 in doubles  :(.  I was on lanes 1 and 2.

I did good. Should have been ALOT better though. Show 299 first game singles, then 184 (2 pocket 7-10s and countless 10 and 9 pins), then 214 for a 697. Doubles shot 289 (pocket 10pin on 11th strike), 235 (split in 10th), 205 for 729. So i bettered my scores from before. Made some money in brackets. I was on 39-40 haha

Team I shot 651

I just got back from States and bowled okay. I just want to say i heard more people crying about the shot at the minors house. I thought i was at my Tuesday night winter mixed winter league when I heard all the crying!!! In my opinion, it was a tougher shot but fair to those who made the shot! My goal was 2100 for all events. I shot 674 in singles with an open in the tenth and 682 in doubles. Again, with an open in the tenth. Bowled Team event first thing in the morning and didnt fair too well. Shot 596. I missed the pocket two times during the set. That house was all about carring the back row. Shot 9 ten pins, 4 seven pins, 2 eight pins and 2 nine pins. Would have faired well if i was bowling no-tap. Oh well. Just want to say good luck to those who havnt bowled yet and please stop crying to Frank about the minors shot!! Just make good shots!

I liked the minors shot better. It held up PHENOMENAL. My 1st time up i bowled on fresh, and it was consistent and had no problems at all. This past weekend I bowled on 2nd shift, which was really 6 games. By my 5th game i was throwing it like i would in the 2ng game on my fresh shot in my league back home. Only thing was poor carry, but the shot was absolutely there.

The Team shot played similar for me. Nothing that drastically different or anything. But again carrying was trouble

I am actually thinking of going back, and bowling on the fresh shot. Deadman my doubles partner lost to you in brackets in the first game (I think you were the only 299). I was jabbing him all night about it.  Telling him if only he shot 300. He said you were in all brackets.

My doubles partner is really good bowler. He was in the pocket all night, left alot of 10 pins.

Id go back again if i could because its so close.

Haha yeah i advanced in my brackets with the 299 game. For singles and doubles i got in all scratch brackets. John Green i believe was his name got in everything and the handicap bowlers were pissed at that. I talked to him waiting for the doubles bracket payout and he's a nice guy, if you have the money to enter everything, no reason not to. I did for the team event and won a decent amount.

I agree. For me, the shot held up very well. I bowled second shift on Saturday night. Used a defiant pin up all night. I am just soo freaking tired of people bitching about the shot!! Practiced Friday night and listened to a guy who says he averages 220 and that the shot was unfair! I give kodos to Frank for entertaining the guy for over an hour and a half. He even showed the guy the tapes from the lanes. Again, what a joke!! Oh yea, who was that guy with the lime green shorts on??

Hahaha no, i was sitting infront of the bar waiting for the payout and talking to you. Blue striped polo on. You were talking about someone you knew that made like 18,000 at nationals or something this year

Gotcha. Sounds like you bowled very well. All events total wasnt too shabby either. I would bet the farm that the shot next year in Scranton will be all walled up!!! Wouldnt surpise me if you see 2300 all events.
