EMERGENY ORANGE!! EMERGENCY ORANGE!! EMERGENCY ORANGE!!

If you were a fan of the Original Blue Eruption this is a must have in your bag!  This ball gets through the front of the lanes just as clean as the Original Blue Eruption, but does so much more once it makes that left turn off corner.

I haven't been this excited about a ball in a long time.   Not only is the color of this ball great but the ball motion I see from this ball is like none other in my bag! Usually for me a ball with a good bit of shine tends to have a very over/under reaction causing for me to have to play with the surface, but not this ball!  This ball allows me to get left (yes get left) but still have the back end finish off the corner that previous balls didn’t allow me to have.   No more flat 10’s!

For me this is going to be most likely be my benchmark ball in my bag as well as a great ball for typical house shot conditions.   I have already had so many people come up to me commenting on the awesome color of the ball as well as the ball reaction down lane. “I can’t believe that’s not a spare ball.”

Now on to the more technical stuff about this ball:
Core: Modified Resurgence Core.  The Resurgence core has been used a ton of times in the past but this is the first time the guys at Columbia have modified it.  The RG is slightly higher and the differential has been lowered which allows this ball to obtain great length and energy storing move.

Cover:  The cover is cleaner and more responsive.  The ball went through completely different finishing process than previous C300 balls.  A stronger grit was used under the polish and the masterminds at C300 used a slower speed when polishing this ball back up.  Allowing this ball to have some bite under the polish but still maintaining its great length.

The release date for this ball is 05 November 2013 so make sure you stop by your local pro-shop and pre-order this ball!  You are definitely going to need this ball in an emergency!

Just drilled this ball and had a chance to throw it on the burn. WOW! So clean through the front part of the lane and then the ball goes berserk on the back end! I haven't seen this thing not come back from anywhere!! Going to be a great addition to any arsenal. The color is the conversation piece of any bowling activity!! I have heard comments from, That pumpkin rolls nice to how many construction cones were lost to make that thing!! LOVE IT. Makes every night of bowling a barrell of laughs and then when it blows up the pins it makes it all the more sweet!!!

ORANGE CRUSH!!!

This ball is something that the Columbia 300 line has been missing for awhile now.  Ball even with the pin down layout clears the heads with ease and has tremendous power on the backend.

I bowl at a house that has old lane shield and the fronts burn up within a game, used this ball all three games last night and never had a problem with clearing the heads.  For the bowlers that like to see thier ball turn hard in the backend, this ball will bring that reaction to your bag and also the color is a head turner.

Core: Modified Resurgence Core.  The Resurgence core has been used a ton of times in the past but this is the first time the guys at Columbia have modified it.  The RG is slightly higher and the differential has been lowered which allows this ball to obtain great length and energy storing move.

Eruption pro is a great ball. by far the best eruption line ball they have made. this ball is so clean thru the fronts of the lane and stores up a ton of energy to make the corner. move a little right and you can even use this ball on the fresh! the core cover combination is incredible. My PAP is 5-1/4 over and 1/2up I ended up drilling this 50x5x40. THIS BALL IS A MUST GET IN YOUR BAG. you will not be disappointed! Pre-order yours now!

LANE CONDITION
This ball is a great complement to the already good stuff in the C300 medium oil category. I drilled it 55 x 4 ¼ x 50 which is similar to the Disruption I have and gave me a ball to compare it with. The Eruption Pro started slightly sooner than the Disruption, or simply reacted more when it hit the dry, but still got through the front of the lane easily. When I missed a little right it had no problem getting back to the pocket (THS) without too much flip. For me it has just as much backend as the Disruption…that coming from a straight player who can always use a good backend reaction.

Basically, the Eruption Pro hooked slightly more than the Disruption which might be due to the “soft polish” finish. Both balls carry well for me and with the slightly different shape going down the lane the Eruption Pro will be a good addition.

COLUMBIA 300 HAS AN EMERGENCY AND NEEDS YOUR ATTENTION, BEWARE THE ORANGE CRUSH IS COMING OUT 11-5-13 AND WILL BE LOOKING FOR YOU!!

If you like the original Eruption or the Violent Eruption then don't hesitate because your going to love the Eruption Pro. A ball that cleans the heads so smoothly and stores so much energy to explode in the back throwing pins every which way.

I bowl 3 different leagues on 2 different surfaces and the amazing thing is i find the same reaction and also find that I am able to use the same angles. This ball also helps me open the lane a little bit going from game 2-3 transition it allows me to miss in a bit and still make a huge turn in the back.

Onto its contributes:

Core: This ball contains a modified resurgence core, however I did say modified and essentially they wanted to modify it so it has continuous stored energy and by doing that they lowered the differential and increased the RG.

Cover Stock: With this cover stock they tried something new, they used more Surface under the polish and when polishing this beast that used a lower speed to get it shiny but still have teeth under the polish to bite in the back.

The release date for this ball is 11-5-13 so make sure you stop by your local pro-shop and pre-order this ball! This is going to be a must have in your bag. Please feel free to ask any questions, i'd be more than willing to answer.

BALL SPECS

Pin Length:3-4 in.

Starting Top Weight:3.25 oz.

Ball Weight:15 lbs 3 oz.

DRILL PATTERN

50x4.75x45

X Hole (if there is one): none

BOWLER STYLE

Rev Rate: About 350 rpm

Ball Speed: 17 mph off the hand

PAP/Track: 4 1/2" right, 1/2 up

SURFACE PREP

Grit: 4000 by hand to knock off surface

Breakpoint Shape: Smooth strong arc

Description: The Eruption Pro (#EmergencyOrange) had a completely different finishing process than previous C300 balls.  A stronger grit was used under the polish and a slower speed when polishing this ball back up.  This allows the ball to have some bite under the polish but still maintaining its great length. The Pro incorporates a new modified Resurgence Core. You will find the motion of the Pro to offer a great look in the medium to light oil category.

Reaction: Because the ball is so clean it has allowed me to play some straighter angles on patterns that do not require me to throw left to right.  I've used this ball on a 42 ft house shot and the 37 ft Broadway pattern, on both shots I'm able to stand on 12 and play up 5 with miss room to the right. The Pro easily gets down the lane and comes off of the friction in a strong continuous manner, I am also able to move inside and get the same motion off of the friction.

Summary: I can say that because I tend to play straighter when I can I like this ball so much already because it allows me to play in my comfort zone sooner, yet provides a strong motion downlane.  It also allows me to move in without changing balls and guessing what type of reaction I'm going to get.

If you need a ball that can play up the boards or cover a ton of boards but isn't dead sideways in the back end, pick up one of these on 11/5/13!

DRILL PATTERN
50x5x55 - puts pin under bridge
X Hole (if there is one): y

BOWLER STYLE
Rev Rate: About 380 rpm
Ball Speed: 17.5 mph off the hand
PAP/Track: 4 3/4" left, 1/4 up

SURFACE PREP
Grit: OBB
Breakpoint Shape: Smooth strong arc

Description: The Eruption Pro is very clean up front, surprising considering the underlying 1500 gritt

Reaction: This ball is not over/under at all, very predictable
because it is a solid, the movement off the friction is slower and a bit longer (IMO)
this gives me a bit more room on the tougher patterns.
I did not see any flippy move off the friction at all, its always predictable and continuous.

Summary: I have plenty of hand and do struggle on the dryer patterns or when there  is friction up front, this piece will definitely help solve those problems.
this ball is so surprisingly clean through the heads w/o a quick change of direction downlane (might be different with a pin up drilling)

I am not a staffer and will not hesitate to point out if I don't like a ball.
this one I like so far from what I am seeing

likes - clean through the heads, very continuous motion off the spot and through the pins, stands out on the rack

dislikes - seems to show the dirt, crud on/in the machine, curtain, etc more so than other pieces.
not a big deal, just an observation

After throwing the Eruption Pro in 6 different bowling alleys on various forms of house shots, I can give you some personal feedback on the new C300 Eruption Pro to be released on November 5, 2013. I believed I would like this piece due to liking the blue Eruption and I was not wrong. The Eruption Pro has a very smooth motion and the higher your rev rate, the more opportunities you will get to throw it. On the fresh, it allows you to play the lanes a little straighter and on the burn, it gets down the lane well and still maintains great hitting power. The color of the ball is an attraction magnet, and makes bowlers dwell on past pieces of that colors, possibly luring them to add the Eruption Pro to their collection. It is a much needed gap in the C300 arsenal. You will not be mad or disappointed with this C300 Mid-Performance Gem.

What can I say about this ball, other than Thank You Bugsy.  This ball is exactly what I've been looking for.  A ball that gets thru the heads and then has a very nice movement off the spot.  One thing I've noticed is the fact that this ball is soo versatile.  On fresh with clean back ends and on the burn this ball gets down lane and has a nasty left turn.  But on heavier fresh or carry down, this ball makes a nice smooth controlled motion.  I've never had a ball act like before.  Usually if I find a ball with a harder flip motion, once it encounters carry down, it skates.  Not this ball.  Can't wait to get some more games on it.  Used a 50*4 1/2*40 layout, think I'll have to punch up atleast one more, maybe even two.

Featuring the Eruption Pro - release date 11/05/13. Video by Columbia 300 Ambassador 2012-14 and Junior Team USA 2012 member Tyler Vostry. Blind the competition with the Eruption Pro! #emergencyorange

http://www.columbia300.com/products/balls/mid-level-performance/eruption-pro

First thoughts: My very first thoughts when I opened the box was holy orange! This is a very exciting color and really gets noticed inside bowling centers. As for the ball reaction, I think Bugsy Kelly and the team at Columbia 300 have found a winner here. The first 12 times the ball hit the lane, it struck! Multiple staffers had 300's out of the box, and there has been a lot of excitement already for this ball to be released to the public. The Eruption Pro is very clean through the fronts, and for me, does not flare a lot for an angular but predictable motion. Bowlers with more hand will be able to get this ball to flare a bit more than me, something I have been searching for since I put holes in the two shown above and have since fixed with some weight holes.

The first one shown in the video is a flat out monster. It's drilled 70 x 4 x 40 with a weight hole in P3 7/8" wide and 2" deep. The stronger drilling and stronger weight hole has given me some extra flare, something I have been dying for lately. Out of box 300 on house, 778 for 3 on Route 66 (45 foot sport pattern) and 289 on cheetah, along with a tournament win and another 2nd place finish in just a week and a half of owning it. Even with the stronger drilling and some additional surface preparation - 2000, 3000, 4000, and a small dab of shine - it is still cleaner than anything in our arsenal and corners with ease once it hooks. I have yet to throw it through the pattern with this ball because of the stronger drilling, but it has never hooked instantly because of the core and cover combination. I tried a hole in the PAP and saw some wiggle down lane, so I plugged it and put the lower hole in and it became this monster. I highly suggest a stronger drilling and a lower weight hole, especially for bowlers that don't have a high amount of revolutions.

The second one is drilled 55 x 5 x 45 - a copy of one of my favorite balls ever, the Violent Eruption. It has a weight hole right on the PAP (5 1/4 over, 1/2 up), 7/8" wide and 2" deep. The cover is out of box. I am actually going to plug the weight hole as I did on the previous one and move it lower. I need an earlier and stronger down lane motion as it is so clean with the weaker drilling. So, this one is still a little bit of a work in progress. However, I was in this position with the first one and made it into a great piece, so I don't see any reason why I could not do it again with this one. The weaker drilling and weight hole makes it clean and smooth, a reaction I don't look for very often with my 320 rpms but can be good for some high rev players.

Overall, this is a motion that Columbia 300 has not offered in a long time and I am excited to continue to have fun throwing these Eruption Pros!

This is definitely a ball that has been missing in our lineup for awhile.  The EruptionPro is super clean through the front part of the lane and stores lots of energy for the backend.  It makes a move from the dry that we haven't seen from Columbia300 in many years.  The majority have loved the Resurgence Core in every ball that Columbia 300 has produced.  This ball is no different, this core is modified slightly and with the new finishing process on the CR300 coverstock, this ball really shines when it rolls down the lanes!  Combine that with the Emergency Orange Color, it is definitely turning heads from everyone to see what I am throwing.

Personally I drilled one Pin Down and one Pin Up. The Pin Down has a low weight hole (P3) and this ball allows me to play on the fresh very easily and occasionally will have too much snap depending on where you bowl and the oil length.  For the most part anything Medium Oil to Lighter oil this ball works great.  The pin up ball gives me a great 1-2 punch as I can go to it when I have to move in and swing the lane a little more.  No loss of power moving in and throwing to the dry.  Clean through the heads is the greatest asset for this ball, if your original Eruption or Disruption moves a little to early on some of your shots, EruptionPro is a definite difference maker for added length and more pop at the end.  This ball will have more shape than what Columbia fans are used to, but it is something we have needed for awhile and you will not be disappointed. Trust me.  I will hope to add a video very soon.

I drilled mine with a pretty basic layout that has always worked well for me with the pin over the ring finger straight down the label with the CG in my palm.  This layout is great on this ball on typical house patterns.  The ball is super smooth thru the front part of the lane and stores an amazing amount of energy for the back end when it hits the end of the pattern.  I kept the surface the same out of the box but I think over time it is a ball I will keep shined.  I started pretty straight playing up the 10 board but as the lanes started to hook I was able to move inside and continue to use it.  House pattern I bowl on is 38 feet with not a huge amount of volume outside of 10.  I was amazing at how clean and smooth the ball was down the lane and once it hit the pins they went everywhere.  Carry did not seem to be in issue with the ball even when I had to get inside.  The ball def picks up very quick on the dry but for typical house shots you will love the versatility this ball has.  You can attack from any angle and still get results.  Once I started throwing it in practice before league some of the guys were intrigued by the color and once they saw the reaction they started asking about it.  Def a ball I would recommend getting for the typical house bowler.  Great job Bugsy!!! Team C300 has another Winner!!!

The release date for this ball is 11-5-13 so make sure you mark it on your calendar and stop by your local pro-shop and get this ball! This ball is a must have for a variety of shots especially your typical house shot!!!  If you have any question please contact me.

Love the old school Piranha color!

The intent of this ball was to fill a gap in the Columbia 300 lineup when the lanes get beat up. Bullseye! This does exactly that. Very clean through the front and enough down lane that you can open up the lanes with. Unlike other low diff products on the markets, this ball can still get around the corner from deep angle.

In comparing this ball against other Columbia 300 products for me the Vow is a good comparison. The Eruption Pro is cleaner and longer than the Vow. The Vow is stronger in the midlane than the Eruption Pro.

The Eruption Pro is so good that you will want to throw it all the time. I drilled two of them with my trusty favorite layouts. One pin up 4 1/2 from PAP and the other pin down 4" from PAP. I hit the pin up with 4000 and it is unbelievable on a fresh house shot. Lane transitions don't happen as fast with this ball as it doesn't read the heads like most balls used in leagues.

Grab one in your favorite proshop 11/06/13

After throwing the Eruption line with great success.  The Eruption pro is the next great ball in the line.  I have used this ball on both fresh oil conditions and the burn and have had success with it on both.  If your looking for length with a great backend motion look no further then the Eruption Pro.

Orange Crush time for Columbia 300! This ball is amazing. The first full game I bowled with it I shot 300. It was on a house shot, but I will take it. I recently moved to Arkansas and this house has not been nice to me. I was struggling getting anything to store enough energy to carry more than a three bagger. Then I drilled my Eruption Pro pin above the ring finger with the CG kicked out an inch. This ball does exactly what I have been missing from C300. It seemed like too often I would have to ball down from an Omen or Smackdown to a Freeze Solid. I cannot wait to use this on the burn in some upcoming tournaments. I used it in league and threw 17 strikes in a row for 260, 278. Bugsy listened to everyone and filled a gap that has been missing from the C300 lineup. Pre-Order your Eruption Pro at your nearest pro shop and be prepared to watch the pins erupt!

Eruption Pro Ball Review –
The Eruption Pro is the newest, hottest ball from Columbia 300. The emergency orange color is awesome, and gives it great shelf appeal. It also stands out on the ball return, and especially on the lanes when you are putting 10 straight back in the pit.
I’ve used my Eruption Pro for about two weeks now, and have already shot 801 with it! It is drilled 5 inches from PAP and 2 inches from my VAL. This keeps the pin tall over my ring finger, with the cg stacked under it. I have a small hole on my axis point as well. I’ve experimented with it on fresh, heavier house patterns, as well as other house patterns that have more friction.  This ball definitely performs better when there is friction, which is what the ball was designed for. The Eruption Pro is really clean through the heads and picks up nicely in the mid lane, while not losing any energy driving through the pins. Even as the lanes break down more and I’m moving left, I haven’t noticed any loss in hitting power. No matter if I’m straight or moving left and swinging it, this ball hits hard and strikes. This is one of the hardest hitting balls in this lineup!

This ball catches your attention with its vibrant color, but it keeps your attention once you see it's reaction and carry power! It is by far the cleanest ball in the C300 line, but when it sees friction, that's when the FUN starts. The Eruption Pro has a hard continuous motion to the pocket with outstanding hitting power and pin carry. If you're looking for easy length and strong backend power, than the Eruption Pro is for you! Great ball when the lanes the start to break down or on lighter oil patterns.  This ball is strong and continuous into the pocket.  The modified Resurgence core makes this ball great!

On the house shot I bowl on I was able to start around 14 out to 9 with miss room to the right without having the ball burn up and ding me with corner pins.  Once I had to move in it still hit like a truck.  The High RG, lower DIFF on this really helps the ball retain energy for the backend.

I threw on the USBC Doubles and Singles pattern and wow did it do great! I was able to start at 17 out to 10-11 and was amazing.  Not flippy at all.  Strong and continuous to the pocket.  Once I moved in a bit had to tighten up the line so I didn't leave flat tens.  Won a 4 game sweeper with 866.

Overall this is a great addition to the Columbia300 line.  With the original Eruption being discontinued this ball takes it's place without skipping a beat.

Higher Rev players will love the strong continuous roll on a little heavier oil, while the tweeners and strokes will love this ball when the lanes start to break down and everything else in the bag is burning up and leaving corner pins.

Release Date is 11/5/2013.  I have 3 pre-orders already.  Don't miss out on some carry and order yours today with your local ProShop.

First off this ball is a homerun!!  It's been a long time since C300 has had a ball shape like this.  Used this ball in a tourney for the first time on a short flat sport shot.  Great ease n length thru the fronts and mid part of the lane.  Awesome flip and continuation  on the backend.  Really explodes on the backend and thru the pin deck.  My eyes opened up when I saw the look this look ball gave me.  This ball will work great on dry to medium patterns. And tear up the house china. Ball was laid out 56 x 4 5/8 x 42.  Ball motion was very easy length and great flip n hook on the back.  I'm gonna love this ball.  194 191 224 259 258 224 207 189.  Last eight with it in match play games. Took 6th in the tournament out of 119.

So I have been throwing this ball for about a month now and all I can say is wow. This ball clears the fronts very easy and the motion on the back is strong but very smooth and continuous. The first one I drilled was a 6in to PAP pin over the bridge with OOB surface on it my lowest set so far has been 720 just in league house shot. If you ar looking for a benchmark ball I believe this is it.

The Eruption Pro will definitely light up your opponents if not the lanes when you use it.  With a new CR300, Emergency Orange cover and modified Resurgence core this ball really brings it.  I have mine drilled 40 x 4.5 x 35 with the pin above the ring.  It is a perfect fit for bowling on second shift as it cuts through the dry boards with ease.  The EP is especially smooth both in the fronts and the mid-lane and because of that I am able to look more right down the lane when needing a bit more backend.  At the same time, I do not lose any carry.  When you are experiencing dry or spotty heads and finish is diminishing, The Eruption Pro can definitely rescue your evening.

This ball is unique to any of Columbia 300's latest productions. When I first received this ball I was absolutely thrilled with the emergency orange color! This ball looked so great in the box, and it looks even better going down the lane. One of the first things I noticed about the ball was that it was polished. I happen to be a big fan of solid-colored bowling balls, but rarely are they polished and this was exciting because it provided me with the option of putting surface on it. I prefer to put surface on bowling balls that come polished rather than put polish on bowling balls that come with surface.

This ball gets through the front part and the mid part of the lane without reading too soon; therefore, this ball does not lose energy by the time it reaches the pocket, rather it utilizes its energy from the breakpoint to the pocket and hits harder than any Columbia 300 ball I have ever thrown. In my opinion, this is due to the nature of the surface (high grit underneath polish), this ball still reads the mid lane just enough as to not create that common over-under, skid-flip reaction that a great number of polished bowling balls offer which would cause me to leave either a 4 pin or a 10 pin.

Compared to the other Columbia 300 balls in my bag, I would consider this one of my benchmark balls. This ball has provided an incredibly consistent and successful reaction for me in all of my leagues. Further, this ball allows me to play through the transition in tournaments by moving left and cutting through the carry-down without overreacting to the break-down. I would placed the Eruption Pro underneath my Antics and above my Disruption, next to my smackdown.

An overall awesome addition to my arsenal!

Seeing this #emergencyorange gem roll down the lanes has turned quite a few heads. I drilled my new Eruption Pro stacked with my pin about 1 1/2" away from my ring finger. WHOA BABY, this ball gets down the lane for me and makes a vicious cut to the pocket, leaving nothing but destruction behind. I was a big fan of the original Eruption and this ball is very similiar in my opinion. I get some major pop on the backend which i did lack on my original Eruption. The Eruption Pro worked best for me when the lanes broke down and there was a lot of over/under. I was able to play the lanes at my comfort level without having to make the big move left with my other C300 equipment.

PROS
Great length and vicious backend

CONS
Might blind other bowlers who watch it going down the lane  8)

The Eruption Pro will be available in all your local pro shops on Nov 5. This ball is a must add to anyones arsenal and you will not be dissappointed.

Lane Patten:  THS
The Eruption Pro fits right in between the Smackdown and the Disruption.  It is cleaner through the front than the Smackdown and reads sooner than the Disruption.  The backend on the Eruption Pro for me is a controlled aggressive snap.   It reads the backends well, but is not as jerky as an asymmetric ball.

After trying different surfaces, my favorite surface is a fresh 4,000 pad.  This surface allows the Eruption Pro to be the first ball out of my bag.  The OOB surface was too clean on the fresh for me, but would be great for a higher rev player.

This would be a great benchmark ball for anyone to have in their bag!!!!

I drilled the Eruption Pro with my typical symmetrical layout for me, which places the pin about 4.5" from my PAP, next to my ring finger.  The CG is stacked below, and the ball does not require a balance hole.  I drilled both finger holes to a normal depth, and I left the ball in box finish.

The Eruption Pro uses a higher RG, lower differential version of the popular Resurgence core shape.  The RG is raised to 2.50 and the differential is lowered to .035.  This core shape has rolled excellent for me in virtually every cover that it has been used in, from oil-hungry covers such as the one used on the OutBurst and Resurgence, to longer, skid-flippy balls such as the Eruption and Momentum.  The cover is a brand-new formulation for Columbia 300, designed to get through broken-down heads with ease.  It is finished at 1500 with a slower-speed application of Powerhouse Factory Finish.

When I looked over the specs for this ball and listened to the team at Columbia 300 talk about this product, I kept hearing how good this ball would be on burnt heads and broken-down conditions where getting the ball through the front of the lane has become difficult with other products.  Given that I like to throw the ball relatively straight, my first thought was that I generally don't have trouble getting the ball through the front of the lane...products such as the original blue Eruption, the Freeze Hybrid, and the Violent Eruption all got through the heads with ease on virtually all conditions for me.  If the Eruption Pro gets through the heads even cleaner... would I see the ball float through the midlane as well, thereby giving me an erratic downlane motion, or no motion at all?  Would I throw it through the pindeck before it thought about hooking?

Thankfully for me, not only has the Eruption Pro been a usable piece for me, it has quickly become one of my favorite pieces.  It does get through the heads better than the Eruption, the Freeze Hybrid, and the Violent Eruption, but it also makes a more consistent move downlane for me than those products, which have all worked well for me over the last couple of seasons.  The best way for me to describe it is that I always felt that I had good options on drier lanes... now I have a GREAT option!  The motion is very predictable, and it doesn't jump immediately off of friction.  It hooks quite a bit downlane, but it is a motion that is easy to adjust and easy to line up with.  The carry is phenominal, and with the bright orange color, it's easy to get noticed when throwing it.  I have heard more remarks and comments on how well this ball looks than virtually any other product I've thrown in the past, and there are times that I've heard how good it looks at times that I feel like I'm throwing it awful!  I have thrown it with success on a multitude of lengths, anything from fresh patterns in the 32-37' range, to broken-down conditions up to 44'.  I especially love it on wood surfaces, because it feels like no matter how beat-up the heads get, the Eruption Pro will get through it.

I would recommend the Eruption Pro to any slower-speed bowler that needs help in getting the ball down the lane.  It will also roll well for higher-rev players that need a ball to give them a consistent read of the midlane later in events, especially as they chase a pattern inside.  As for me, I plan to continue using it every opportunity I have... if I think it has a chance to work, it's coming out of the bag!

Columbia 300 Eruption Pro

The modifications to the Resurgence core paired with the new clean reaction cover stock create a motion that every bowler will want in their bag! I was initially weary of the modifications to the core. The Resurgence core has been my favorite and most successful core, so I was stuck to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality. That was until I drilled some holes in my Eruption Pro.

Throwing this on a medium to light oil house condition, the Eruption Pro offered a motion that easily cleared the heads with a very smooth, continuous reaction on the back end. After a few weeks of using the Eruption Pro, it has become my go to ball for games later games of league. Being a bowler that likes to play the lanes hard and straight, late games of league or tournament blocks have never yielded high scores; this has changed. The higher RG and lower differential core of the Eruption Pro allow me to open up the lanes and rest assured that I will have the continuation and control that I need down lane.

I have also practiced with the Eruption Pro on several sport patterns. It has matched up well on all short conditions. For the short patterns, such a Kegel's 'Los Angeles', I hit the surface with a 4000 pad to give me an earlier motion and even more control. The ball allowed me to stay right of first arrow for an extended period of time without ever losing hitting power or giving me an over/under reaction. Again, the lower differential core provided the down lane continuation that helped me keep striking.

You will see a lot of Emergency Orange going down the lanes in the very near future! We have already drilled two cases of these balls for customers and every single one rolls fantastically. House shots or short sport conditions, crankers or straighter players, this is the piece that every bowler needs in their bag!

This ball has been a great addition to my arsenal.  Since this ball has arrived in staffers hands you have seen many staffers shoot 300 and 800 out of the box.  This ball could be one of the best addition's to the Columbia 300 line in years and is already proving to be one of the best balls of 2013.  With my untraditional track (right side of the finger/thumb holes) for a right hander it is hard for me to talk about pin positions and layouts that would make since to the regular bowler.  I have a Rev rate of a little over 400 and my PAP is 6 3/4" out and 1" up.  This ball as said by many before is super clean through the fronts while storing up energy for the backend reaction you want and need down the lane.

This new Eruption Pro has provided me the ball I need when the heads start to break down and I need to move it, when my Disruption starts to hook a little early I can go to the Eruption Pro and it clears the heads with ease and still saves up energy to still have a great backend reaction.  The Resurgence core has been awesome to say the least and with a little tweaking to the core for this ball it is another great ball in the Columbia 300 line.

No matter how you throw it, no matter where you like to play, no matter if your on a house shot or something else this ball will work for you.  This ball with it's Emergency Orange color can be seen everywhere when it is going down the lane and like the days past when the Pirahna was being thrown, everyone wants to know what it is.

If your looking for a new ball to add to your arsenal then check out your local pro shop and look for the Emergency Orange glow and check out the Eruption Pro,  the latest release from Columbia 300.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me and I will help where I can.

Likes:  This orange ball is a must have for any rev rate player. Super clean through the front part of the lane, and a smooth wrap around the break point.  This ball is the perfect balance of length and strength.  A problem many rev rate league bowlers encounter is too much angularity at the break point. The Eruption Pro combines the length found in the shiner surface balls, with out losing the control of a smooth reaction.

Ball: Eruption Pro
Surface: 2000 Abralon
PAP: 5 1/4", 1/4" Up
Layout: Pin below fingers 2" from PAP, CG slightly inverted.

The Eruption Pro gets your attention going down the lane. The Emergency Orange definitely catches your eye but you quickly realize this ball is special when you see it read the back of the lane and go through the pins. Designed with a higher RG (2.51) and significantly lower differential (.031), this ball easily gives me my most consistent ball reaction.

C300 had drier lane conditions in mine when creating this ball and it does not disappoint when it sees friction. I have found that it also handles medium volumes very well. With a slight modification to the shell (OOB polished), the ball still has more than enough on the back end.

The Eruption Pro's strength is when it finds friction but shows versatility by allowing you to play straighter on medium oil volumes. This ball gives a noticeably different look compared to recent releases and is a must have for all tournament bowlers and anyone that bowls on high friction surfaces.

THIS IS THE BALL THAT COMPETITORS HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!

With the Exception of the Blue Eruption, we have struggled to find a cover that could navigate thru early hook.  AFter a lot of testing by our Pro Staff we have finally got the answer we have been looking for.

We purposely tested on Pro Logic on a high lineage center and used enough players to create significant breakdown and an environment.  Once we got to the point with significant early hook and the traditional lazy downline look that accompanies this, we went to work with the test balls.  4 different versions and after a no and a couple of "ok's", we got to the ball now known as the ERUPTION PRO.  This ball stood out head and shoulders above the rest for its ability to clear the front of the lane and then provide great change of direction out of the breakpoint.  It was easily the best piece we had seen in this environment and since has proven itself on a wide variety of patterns including Clara on the Cheetah pattern, myself on the Viper, and countless others at the World Series.  I have seen many drillings and many players with multiples of the same ball which is always a great indicator of success and versatility of a ball.

I have since used it on house patterns at home and on a few WBT patterns.  this ball has immediately become a centerpiece of my arsenal and should become a serious contender for ball of the year!

Likes:Well C300 fans this is the ball that we have been missing and has finally arrived.
I have been a TeamC300 staff member for the past 7 years and this is what i've been waiting for. The Resurgence core has been the best core in the line up (for me atleast, Symmetric ). Ive had alot of success with the resurgences Bursts and Eruptions. But this one tops them all.

With the new modified core We changed the densities of one of our most popular cores to give you the reaction you’ve been asking for. Higher RG and lowered differential makes this ball super super clean through the heads and talk about flip, it flips.

Everyone thinks of storm when they want a skid flip ball. Not anymore this ball is going to change the way you feel about C300 balls.  :)

I am a RH Hi-rev rate bowler and can use it on every shot i encountered so far, from long patterns to short when i have to move in to 5th 6th arrow it always recovers with all energy stored for hard hitting, messenger flying pin carry.

Great job to Bugsy Kelly and out team at C300 for taking us in the right direction.
Wether you are a Stroker Tweener or Cranker this ball will fit in your arsenal perfectly

The new Eruption Pro is AMAZING!!! I thought my old Eruption got through the heads clean. This ball not only grabs your attention going down the lane but also looks great going though the pins. I am a big fan of keeping the pins low on solid pocket hits and this ball does just that. I have even had success on THS fresh patterns as the Eruption Pro has a nice bite once it hits that fresh backend. This is a must have in any bag whether you are an league bowler or tournament player.

The Columbia 300 Eruption Pro is another great addition to the Eruption line.  I have had success with this ball on both house shots as well as 39 foot sport patterns.

The dual angle layout of 47 x 3 15/16 x 73 allows me to use my spin roll when the back-ends are snapping and it carries out the ten pin with ease.  I can also use my forward roll release when the lanes are a little tighter and square up the shot to the pocket.  Smooth rolling with a powerhouse weight block.

Another winner from Columbia 300 and I love the Emergency Orange color.

I absolutely loved the Eruptions b/c it gave me a look that no other ball could give me as far as smoothness and clearing the heads. Never did I think C300 could create a ball that gets through the heads any better but they did it again. Out of the box, this ball clears the heads better than any ball on the market. Yes, I am a staffer so I don't throw other companies but I have had other ppl compare this ball to "the bowlers company" balls and they all were in agreement, nothing gets down the lane with as much ease at the Eruption Pro. Great for typical house conditions but even better for shorter to medium patterns. Used it for the past 3 weeks in my 4 game league. I think I may move a total of 2-3 boards all night. Avg 245 the past 3 weeks. This ball is a must have. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

PICTURES AND/OR VIDEOS

So far I must say this has been one of the most, if not the most impressive piece from C300 in the last 3-4 years. It is definitely something that has been missing from the lineup for quite some time. The house that I bowl in most has very beaten up synthetic lanes dating from the early '80s; having said that, I would always get into trouble with splits and over-hooking backends from everything I threw. It didn't matter if I threw a Freeze or an Antics, the ball would hook anywhere on the lane. Very frustrating to say the least. I was absolutely thrilled about the Eruption Pro's specs. The Resurgence core is tried and true and battle tested with multiple great pieces over the last few years, but it's RG (2.46) is very low, which is where the "modified" resurgence core looks absolutely amazing here. While using less dense materials to make the core, it takes the RG up to 2.50 and tames out the differential to 0.36 (original resurgence core was around 0.40-0.46 depending on the cover used with the core) which allows for more forgiveness at the breakpoint without sacrificing the ability to get out the corner pins.

My first Eruption Pro is drilled 70 x 5.25 x 50 which puts the pin just above my middle finger with the CG slightly up and to the right of my grip center. Out of the box this was was very strong, much stronger than I had anticipated. After playing around with multiple types of surface with and without polish, I decided it was still just too strong as it was. My ball was still over-hooking the pocket on those burned up lanes I mentioned earlier, so I added an X-hole at 5" over directly on my midline, 1" diameter, 2" deep. This actually caused me to negative weight the ball slightly, helping to slow down the motion I was seeing at the breakpoint. I lost about 4 boards of hook but gained about 3-5 boards of area previously unseen downlane while still managing to kick corner pins out extremely well and helped it fit into my arsenal quite nicely for later in tournament blocks.

My second Eruption Pro I decided to drill pin down. I have a specific layout that I use on about 5-6 balls in my tournament arsenal that reads the mids extremely well, but doesn't produce a lot of angle downlane. This allows me to have a little more recovery right and be able to miss left a little and still hold true to the pocket. With my PAP and using the dual angles to lay out my equipment, this particular layout comes to 65 x 5" x 70. The layout gets the pin below my bridge and puts the CG just to the right and below my grip center. I only use this layout on 2-3" pin bowling balls for static weight purposes so I do not need to put an X-hole in the ball. This helps keep the smooth motion I'm looking for on fresh lanes when they normally play the least forgiving for me. I found that with this drilling, box surface was a bit too tame for my liking, and hand sanding with a 4000 Abralon pad would make the ball squirt downland. I put the ball on my spinner and wet sanded it to 3000 with a fresh Abralon and this ball really came to life! It's smoother transition downlane is perfect for the beat up lanes I practice when they are fresh and give me tons of room for error both left and right.

All in all this is a wonderful new addition to the lineup that any tournament bowler or league bowler would be crazy to pass up! It will definitely be in contention for ball of the year and I look to see more of this product in the future!

All i can say about the ball is wow!..the eruption pro I drilled is 60x4-1/2x40 pin up....the eruption pro is as clean thru the front of the lane as any other ball I can remember drilling...and when it hits the friction on the back makes a big powerful move on the back...its not totally allergic to oil either as some shiny balls I've drilled... if u want a ball that turns the corner than this is the ball for you!!!

I've had the pleasure of drilling two Eruption Pro's so far.  One 5x5, pin up, no hole and one 5x4, pin down with a small P3 hole.  Both at box surface.

The pin down Eruption Pro is the perfect mix of clean through the fronts, smooth off the end of the pattern, and very continuous through the pins.  The one reminds me a lot of the original Blue Eruption, but with more continuation through the pins.  I've had a lot of success with this ball on house shots on HPL lane surfaces with a little more friction, as well as medium length Sport patterns where you need control to keep the ball in the pocket.

The pin up Eruption Pro is the cleanest and hardest hitting C300 ball I've used when the pattern breaks down and you have to get in deep.  With the lower diff core this layout doesn't produce a lot of flare, so I wouldn't recommend going with this weak of a layout unless you have some hand, but for those players with some hand you will get an incredibly valuable ball reaction from this in later stages of tournaments.

Overall these balls compliment the Vow and Smackdown nicely.  The pin down one fits right between these other two balls, and the pin up one is a perfect step down from the Vow.

Thanks for reading,
Erik V.

This ball is...absolutely ridiculous. There are no words to explain how good it is and how hard it hits. Drilled mine 70x5x70, and the continuation and pin carry on this ball is just sick. EXTREMELY versatile, can play in or out with it depending on condition and hand position. With this drilling, the ball goes forever, and really makes a hard left turn after it trues up in the late mids. The remarkable thing about this ball is that it just never stops through the pins, and throws pins everywhere. Really a must have ball.
