Title: WSOB has begun
Post by: SVstar34 on November 09, 2017, 04:49:48 PM
The scoring pace through 10 games on Chameleon and 5 on Shark is insane

Troup +308 for the first 5 on Shark and there were also a few 300 games. Smallwood, Daugherty, Rash and Doyle were the ones i saw.

Yeah Radical was really pointing out how well Tom Smallwood is doing.  Good to see because didn't look like he did so hot at the Open.

Smallz withdrew from the Open during the 2nd round of qualifying. He's bowling really well so far

Going to say meh to this so far; not because it isn't exciting, but just for the fact that I haven't seen much of it. It's been more interesting for me to watch the QubicaAMF World Cup. Butturff started slow, but has been tearing it up the past few rounds of qualifying, briefly held 1st, then dropped back. He's currently in the top 8 for Round Robin match play, but coming into today, there were less than 50 pins separating 1st from 8th.

Erin is holding up as well, in the top 6. throughout the tournament, Jenny Wegner is the only one to shoot 300.

Many have asked why Butturff isn't at the WSOB, and for his answer, I agree: weighing the chance to win a title and some money, versus representing your country at the closest event we have to the Olympics? I think I chose the right option. ;)

Shout out to both Butturff and Blanchard (don't know either but think I have seen Blanchard before in Mesa pro shop I go to) representing the Arizona crew.

They shouldn't have been scheduled at the same time.

Hate to say it, but blame the PBA on that one. the World Cup is scheduled a year in advance. In fact, we'll know next year's location and date tomorrow.

What's the payout for the wsob this year? $300 and a decoder ring?

Opting for the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup definitely paid off.

Butturff just won it.

Well Andrew Cain broke the 5 game PBA record on the new 33 ft Cheetah. Capped it off with 300 for 1352

Watching Game 5 now of the 2017 Pepsi PBA Scorpion Championship.  I see on Xtra Frame that BJ Moore III is throwing some ball that looks like its colors are gold pearl, blue solid and pink solid.  Which RotoGrip ball is that?

Is it the Hustle RIG or POW?

Not sure, but I'm sure as hell impressed by Mookie and shooting 300 on the split down there. Video for that is already up on Youtube, and shared out on the BoSox FB page.

Yeah saw a short video.  Form looked pretty good except he points his slide foot toes pretty far to the right on finish.  Funny when you are a pro athlete how you can make it work.

(edit:  Should have made clear the guy is an amazing bowler and his balance is still amazing)

Funny how some can criticize his form when he just finished playing a 162 game baseball season and makes more than everyone in the building combined. Hes got decent form and i applaud him for attempting the WSOB.

Mookie was far more impressive than almost everyone on this site. First time I've seen him bowl. The man has chops in 2 sports. Anyone criticizing his form needs to check the mirror. Seriously.

I'm actually the same way when i finish. I've tried correcting it but i have better balance with my foot pointing right and feel like I'm able to stay down better

The dude is an amazing athlete, awesome bowler and I am not taking anything away as results speak for themselves.  Only probably noticed because was watching several other ball videos so one of those what stands out kind of things but his balance is still incredible.  Anybody that throws a 300 on a PBA pattern is the real deal.

Chameleon finals are going to be interesting to watch. Definitely setting the DVR for that one.

In the US vs World show it looked like Ciminelli was throwing the Combat Tank. I'm willing to bet it's a little stronger than the previous ones. He ripped on it

Brett Spangler said on FB live the new tank was longer with more downlane shape then the previous tanks. He said the Rampage was stronger overall but the combat would allow for a little more angle.

Doesn't surprise me.  From what I understand the Rampage is a deceptively strong urethane ball for its rather tamer looking numbers.  That cover stock is for real.
