Finally got me an almost new Honey Badger. Now have a ball from nearly every major product family now. Looking forward to rolling another 2 piece. They just hit better for me.

No Black Ops?

I have a Black Ops, and it's ok, but I got one with a 4 inch pin, cg shifted 2 inches left, and 5oz of top. Could only do one layout on it, and it's not my preferred layout. I don't like pin up layout with that ball.

I wonder what the "Hybrid urethane" is:
half pearl urethane and half solid urethane (Think Storm SuperNatural),
OR
half urethane and half resin (Think new/current Hammer Blue Hammer)?

The silver definitely has a pearl appearance in the picture on the approved list

In The Bag!!

Covert Ops
Inception Solid (Polished)
Honey Badger (What a monster can play 4th arrow on Open pattern with it)
Brunswick T-Zone (Bridge is cracking new a Global Spare bowl soon)

The 900G web site now tells the story:
80% urethane, 20% resin.
From the appearance of the picture on the web site, it seems like the urethane is a pearl urethane, but that could be just the looks of it.
In any case, it is ROUGH, 1000 grit.
-
Same surface prep as the Booyah with S20. Fits it well. My Booyah actually backends a bit and it surprised me
-
So now we have the Shadow Ops, 80/20 urethane/resin and the Combat LE which is 50/50 pearl/solid urethane. Will there be much difference in the reactions? I know one is sym and other is asym.
-
Break weightblock vs the Ascent weightblock, totally different. I'm seeing this as close to the widow urethane than being weaker than the Rampage.
-
For the Shadow Ops, which color is urethane and which color is reactive?
Is it the silver that is the urethane and the black is reactive resin?

I can only guess by looking at the picture on the web site.
Since most of the picture seems to be the silver, pearl-looking part and since their words say it is 80% urethane, I have to conclude that the silver is the urethane.

I feel it is unrealistic to produce a "hybrid" bowling ball with the colors representing the quoted materials. This would require a precise pour in order to provide a consistent reaction.
Imagine the Storm Frantic
(https://www.ballreviews.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg0096.psstatic.com%2F123195606_storm-frantic-bowling-ball-16-lbs-ebay.jpg&hash=5a7b77400b404dd15d8b62a66bdc8004c2d831f0)
It would appear to be impossible to have actually different materials representing the two colors and have a consistent reaction ball-to-ball.
My understanding is what we perceive as pearl in a ball is an additive that affects appearance only. The entire coverstock is the same material blended however is needed to achieve the reaction. It may be 80/20 urethane to resin, but each color has this same mixture.

How do you know what you stated? Do you work for Storm or other ball manufactures?
It's not that I don't believe you, but what information do you have to prove your statement?

Phil Cardinals has said in videos that it's all about the additives used. Same reason for why not all pearls are long and flippy or all solids are early
