Came across a NIB black faball and bought it. Just looking for confirmation that it is the real deal. Serial is F62866. Thanks for the help

The F in the ser# indicates the ball as poured n the Florisant, MO plant. This pl;ant latger became the startup plant for Visionary. I always liked the balls poured n MO. the best
-
Since it is a Missouri drill, when was that plant running/when would you guess this was poured?
-
up until the early 90's. Visionary started in 1997

I did get confirmation from Jason Wonders early confirming the ball was poured in 86. Thanks for the feedback. Between ypur initial and his later response I know enough now. Thanks!

That one is an oldie. Mine was from 1990 IIRC. Think the first ones only came out in 1983. Seems like a lot of the ones I mostly see from 1980s NIB are Nails so that is a nice find NIB.

Im going to feel a little bad drilling it and removing the factory polished finish. Should probably keep it as a cool display item since it has original box as well as never have been drilled

You can get a single drilled for less than $100 shipped generally. Might save that one and get yourself one you won't feel bad using. My black was more effective on modern oil than I expected but it got benched to the garage as when I throw urethane I either throw my Crow or my Sumo and very occasionally my Red Razor. Don't hardly see short oil at all.
