Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has used their favorite layout for every bowling ball in arsenal? My favorite layout is (righty) 5 1/2 pin above mid finger x 4 mb just rt of thumb, no hole, which works for my slow speed. Currently rebuilding a storm/rg arsenal and was thinking of doing this. Wondering if anyone has had success using same favorite layout for every ball? I remember reading in one of the posts that some of the tour guys do this. Any thoughts?

Not one, but I do use two. I have one for pin up, and one for pin down layouts. After drilling lots of balls over the years I kinda' stick with what works for me and quit experimenting.
Now I can eliminate layout from the equation and just match up the surface to get where I need. I guess the only remaining mystery is what I do to the ball (which is the BIGGEST inconsistency).

Definitely heading that way.

I actually use 4
Symetric 60x4.5x35 pin up 60x4.5x60 pin down
Asymetric 50x5x30 pin up 70x5.5x70 pin cwn

Usually, I go on symmetrical
5*40 or 5*65
Reason for no first angle is because I don't like extra holes. Also, I feel that angle is useless on symms.
Assyms
50*5*65
60*5*40
Assyms I will tweak the drill angle a little depending on how I am feeling.

Pin-pap 4 1/4"
For a control layout I go with 2 3/4' and normally put a hole on my PAP

I use the same Layout on virtually every ball, and my success rate is at approximately 90/95%; I know longer will ‘Fix what’s not broken’ with any other layouts.

I use the same layouts on all my stuff now also and higher rg equipment. only difference is the cover's. different layouts for my urethane though.
in the bag now is a pin down HyNano, pin down street fight, pin down honey badger pin down roto grip venus ,pin up thunderflash and a pin up avalanche pearl urethane. couldn't be happier with my arsenal.
I've had success with other layouts but these have been the most consistant.

Thanks for all the response guys. Six pack I’m right there with you on the high rg balls. Benchmark ball is hyroad, and just drilled a nano and have a hyroad pearl on order. Love the two piece fe2 high rg core of the roads. Smooth and continuous for my game.
