I shot my 2nd 300 with a Golden Nugget and never threw a 4 bagger with it again. I did like that ball though.

Are test balls legal to throw in competition?

If they are true test balls they likely won't have a serial number or usbc engraved on them, so no they are not.

If they have a serial number and logos on them you could probably get away with using them.

My favorite, the Droid Pearl, no one else seemed to like so maybe I can swoop in and pick it up. I've kicked myself ever since I traded that thing.

There is a color test Droid Pearl 15 lb ball now (8 PM Eastern time, Thursday).

So when they don't sell at the "asking prices," are they going back into the vault?

I saw one (no pun intended) that I was interested in, but almost $50 shipping turned me away.

Is it me, or does it seem more logical (from a marketing perspective), for Lane #1 to sell equipment at a (MUCH) more competitive price.........and have more product out there selling itself?

Is your reduction in price NOT going to offset by moving more product (which will lead to the equipment selling itself, assuming it is good) overall?

Richie has survived while several other companies have disappeared, or raised the white flag and suffered the indignity of being absorbed by others. Say what you want about the man's views on CG and static weights, but he understands business.

His pricing strategy actually makes sense. Maintain the product as a premium offering for bowlers loyal to the brand, and he has a chance of staying in business. He's guaranteed to lose if he tries to get into the volume pricing model we see from the big boys. Time will tell.

Good times, each company does have their only little take on how things are done etc. Steven is right. No one can sell anything until value exceeds price and even then you will still have folks who cant afford every product at every price. That's why there is different products and prices. Some companies produce 1 new ball every 45 days or so. really? if you end up buying so many balls you are lost in what you need to throw when you are bowling. Consistently changing balls. when you are bowling good,, chances are its the same 2-4 balls you mostly use because you have built the confidence in those and learned the adjustments.

So with Lane#1 what we bring to the table is Technology and a simple way to strike!
not every ball is suitable for every bowler no matter the layout. That's we do have several balls in our current line up but we only produce a few a year. When we help a bowler we get their info like PAP, speed, rev rate and consider what conditions he/she may be bowling on or most of the time. What they think they need may or may not be that ball. We use the GBS theory and static weights along with matching the ending CG weight to the Core angle of the ball. This produces the best BLEND of MOTION for you when you bowl. so it blends the 3 phases of ball motion. Skid, Roll, Hook. with this theory and use of knowledge we are able to maintain the most amount of possible energy and consistent roll from release point till it hits the pocket. Any sudden change in direction and you are losing accuracy and power.

Some folks don't take advantage of drilling their ball to the maximum potential of performance. If a person doesn't know what that is, well that's not their fault. Folks  often become defensive or want to reject knowledge when we don't understand something and most of the time buddies follow buddies in decision making. Our core is patent so no other company can copy it. There is a reason why the diamond core and its variations are the best out there. I sure don't want to type all that out lol.

At anytime a bowler can call Lane#1 and ask for help with their bowling ball for anything and talk directly to Richie the owner. Can't do that with other companies.

We produce bowling equipment that generates 20% more Gyroscopic energy without having to apply more energy from the bowler. When the ball is drilled and balance right, the impact power is incredible. Plus your adjustments are smaller and more simpler. Plus we help you build an arsenal and not needing 6-15 balls like some folks do, no need for all that. 3-4 is all you need. Then you create the other adjustments as a bowler because out of those 3-4 balls your adjustments will be small anyways. you will have more confidence in your decision making than ever before, I guarantee that.

The quality and value is there without a doubt.

Ah, so you are saying the diamond core is more than just a sale gimmick?

I suppose using physics you could argue that opposed triangles(or Pyramids) could be the most stable geometric shape, but I don't see that it would be any better for bowling than the simple light bulb core.

But I could be wrong.  ;D

Then the would be a hyroad or a freeze or a zone...

It's what makes them different (no pun intended, f $300 for a ball) and relevant.  I feel it gives the brand charm, like I'd expect a lane 1 ball to have a diamond shape, OR ELSE!
