BRB vs. Kong for Medium to Burnt?
« on: January 08, 2007, 02:19:05 AM »
I have the Big Bang, AP2, and NS2. I am looking for a ball for more of a medium to light patterns or burnt conditions.
So here comes the obligatory blah blah blah.....
I have read allot of what you guys have said recently about the Kong working well for medium to light patterns and the BRB looks like it would work well for these conditions too. One of my teammates has a Kong and I like the reaction he gets, it is his only ball and he uses it all night. Seems like with alittle speed ajustment he's able to stay around the pocket nicely. Since I have the BB, the BRB really interests me as a follow up, but I already use the NS2 as it's followup. This ball really has to be able to handle LIGHT conditions. More than likely will see more tournament action and less league action.

So any thoughts?

I don't believe that anyone here said they used the Kong for light oil. I have said medium-light to medium (I think of "light" as a step down from medium-light.)

A lot depends on how you drill these balls AND more, your ball speed to rev rate ratio.

Legends/Lanemasters, for me, and a few others, has ONE ball for dry to light oil and that's the Straight Flush. For most people (no, not everyone) the rest of their pearls and "milder" balls are for medium-light at a minimum. The Buzz may be their ball that most easily clears the heads, making it POSSIBLY, the most appropriate ball for what you seem to be indicating. Keep in mind that not everyone agrees with this.

Read some of the more recent (over the past 2-3 months) posts here in this forum; there's been a lot of recent comments on this subject.

OK... I get it. From what I have seen lately most ball companies are not really making new balls with coverstocks that are weak enough for burnt conditions. Maybe I should try the straight flush. Anybody have any updates on this new ball Legends is supposedly making?

I'd forgotten about that. Robb brought it up recently. It is supposed to be between the Straight FLush (which is for VERY dry lanes) and the others, like the Buzz and the Big-R-Bang.
