LM Particles
« on: July 27, 2014, 09:29:43 PM »
I've read that the Big Bang SE and Xtreme Damage Platinum have a skid particle as part of the cover stock..
Could someone please explain what this is and maybe how it works? Tony, Pat, Charlest, etc.
Thanks
Bob

Bob,

I was lead to believe it was the Perfect and the Xtreme Damage Platinum that had the skid particles.

The only skid particles, of which I was aware before this, is the mica many manufacturers add to their solid resins to create pearl (or pearlized) resins. They, of course, make "pearl" balls skid further than their solid counterparts by making the coverstock less elastic (not softer). That makes less of the coverstock being in contact with the surface of the lane at any one time compared to the more elastic solids.

I do not know what the actual "skid particles" are being used by Lane-Masters in the Perfect and the Xtreme Damage currently.

My Perfect, with the coverstock unchanged so far, is good for medium-light oil, in general, with slight usage above and below that level. It has the slightest bit of extra snap at the backend, on medium-light oil, just short of being a skid/snap reaction, and more towards a very hard arc.
