Very predictable, very versatile and easy to watch transition down the lane.  Ball does not load up like so many do now a days.

I was lucky enough to get Lane Masters to send me this ball to try back in the spring of 2006.  Thought it was time to review.  WOW!  One of the best balls I have ever thrown.  Ball refuses to quit!  Probably have over 150 games on ball, still reacts like out of the box.  Shot 300, 815 last time in league.  Smooth through the heads with nice arc to the pocket.  Great quality, great company.  If you haven't tried a Legends or LaneMasters ball I highly recommend you try one.

Layout:
2 3/4" PIN. Pin aboved ring finger.
CG stacked below ring.
XH on PAP.

Review:
This ball with this layout gets nice length when the heads have dried up. It does not read early due to its low flaring core. It has power and predictability all in one package. You watch this ball come off the end of the pattern and you can't belive how strong of a move it has. The Evolution Pearl Reactive has a nice bite on the back end. First time using shot 300-846...incredible! I would not suggest using this ball on heavy oil unless you have a big hand. This ball is a must have if you are looking for something to combat medium patterns, light patterns, or early hook.

Let me start out by saying Thank You DP3 for giving me layouts when ever I asked for them, Your the best at what you do on to the ball.......

15pds
Layout-Pin under ring finger,(not needed) X hole 2inches below PAP on VAL.
Reaction: Long/Smooth/Aggressive

I took this ball to the alley this morning while my girlfriend was getting her hair done to see what this ball was about, I was some what amazed. I give myself credit as well as the ball it's only right, I threw it well and the ball gave me the reaction it was supposed to. The buzz was very smooth and at times I felt that it would not have enough to finish and I was wrong, it wasn't a "jumpkick" type movement but it was strong enough to finish flush in the pocket. It really excelled in the carry down ignoring it as my girlfriend's sister's kids do me when I tell them to knock it off. The carry is great and the "hook" really isn't "hook" more so a smooth arc, either way I like it.

Let's start by thanking L/LM for making great bowling products! I just week back to using the Buzz several weeks ago when I was doing an inventory of the bowling balls I have drilled in my shop and always liked the smooth reaction I got on the medium to light patterns. The ball started with a 3" pin with 31/4 top and I wanted to try a simple label leverage drilling, because I wanted a smooth consistent reaction which I got with the layout. I have my specs. listed in my profile! The ball is very clean through the heads and doesn't read or checkup early in the mids, but has a very strong arc or snap not a flip on the last 15 feet. I wouldn't call this a skid/flip ball, but if it was drilled pin above the fingers you may get more of a skid/flip reaction. I know that if I get the Buzz out and it's not turning hard enough to go with my Black Pearl or Big Kahuna and I'm debating on how or if I'm going to drill the Sting. The Hornet is on my bench waiting to be drilled, I marked it up about three times and changed how I was going to lay it out, but it's close! Thanks for the time and I hope this may help in your decision on a great L/LM ball, Bruce

The layout - I laid this ball out like all my other equipment to see how it compared to the other Lane Master and

Legends equipment.  I put the pin 4 inches from my Positive Axis Point (PAP) and the CG 3 1/2 inches from my PAP.  The

ball required a small weight hole, which I placed on my vertical axis line.

Oil Pattern - I tested this ball on our Freshly Oil House Shot.  We have a heavier oil volume than most house patterns.

Review - I threw this on a variety of shots the months I have had it.  I actually forgot that I didn't write a review on this ball.  This is the longest and strongest ball that I have thrown in the Lane Masters line-up since the original Absolute Power.  This ball is clean through the head in everything but burnt heads.  The Buzz has strong backend movement and good punch at the pocket.

Overall -  If you like the Lane Masters stuff, but looking for something to get down the lane and give you backend punch, then punch up a Buzz.  The Buzz is longer and stronger than any of the other Lane Master balls that I have thrown.

15lbs
2.5 inch pin
Pin under the ring finger
CG kicked out 2 inches from the center line
Weight hole

This the perfect true medium oil ball.
Gets through the heads like plastic, but then reads and balances the mid-lane and backend in the most controlled consistent roll to the pocket.
Does what your hands tells it every time.
The low flare core negates over-under.
Hit's super hard like the rest of the Legend and LaneMaster family.
A must have in the Bag!!!

I'm a bit surprised by some of the reviews here. Some have said this is the strongest ball they've seen from LM, others that it's not nearly strong enough. According to the LM Gold Coaches and staff, this ball is supposed to be for medium oil (Sting for oilier lanes, Hornet for drier lanes). That's why I got one.

At first, it hooked a lot less than I wanted, but then I realized my pro shop guy had polished it up for me (anticipating that, because that's usually what I have him do). When I took the surface down to about 800, it performed beautifully. Goes long, reads beautifully, turns strongly, and hits hard. A great ball for second flight leagues, Monte Carlo, etc. Follow it up with The Hornet as the lanes dry out and then The Straight Flush for the burn, and you have a great little arsenal!

Highly recommended. I have yet to find a LM ball that I didn't love!

About Me: See my profile.

About the Ball: 15 lbs, 4 1/2" x 4 1/2", pin in ring finger, CG at grip centerline, no weight hole, static weights: 0 oz side, 0 oz finger, 1 1/4 oz top weight. Prior to drilling: 15 lbs 2 oz, 3 oz top weight, 2 5/8” pin. Durometer: 74 ‘D’ scale hardness on surface (no mill hole)

The Buzz is another excellent ball from the Lane Masters/Legends family. It fills an important need in one’s tournament arsenal as a ball that gets excellent length that is most at home on medium-light conditions with a range of medium to light. For a league bowler’s two-ball arsenal, the Buzz makes an excellent 2nd ball out as the lane conditioner breaks down and as a first ball for lighter and/or shorter patterns. The ball is also versatile enough to work as an only ball as the surface is easily tunable for anything from dry to medium-heavy conditions. In my five ball tournament bag, the Buzz is the fourth ball in progression from heavy to light conditions: Conquerer pin-down, Big Bang pin-up, Black Pearl Reactive label-leverage, Buzz pin-in-ring finger, Hornet pin-up).

The Buzz is a symmetric core reactive pearl with a medium-high radius of gyration (RG) (2.551) and a medium-low differential RG (0.031). It has a relatively low flare potential of 4” and flares approximately 3” as drilled. The ball features true two-piece construction with the core surrounded by approximately 11 pounds of Lane Masters’ Evolution Pearl resin. This type of construction results in a high coefficient of restitution and is key to the hit of the Buzz and most other LM/L balls.

The Buzz fits in a unique position in Lane Masters/Legends ball matrix. As a spare ball, you have the Arrow polyester, followed by the Straight Flush as a 3-piece light condition reactive pearl ball and the Hornet as a 2-piece light condition reactive pearl ball. The Buzz is next as a 2-piece reactive pearl covering the light to medium conditioner spectrum exhibiting skid-snap characteristics.

I use The Buzz down and in from outside and along the oil line transition on top hats. The Buzz is also a great late shift play from just inside the worn track area. It will recover from deep inside when it encounters friction but the Black Pearl Reactive is a better play here due to its higher differential RG.

All-in-all, I’ll keep The Buzz in my bag for a long time. It is my first ball out on light patterns, wood and synthetic. I hope that Lane Masters re-releases this ball soon as there is nothing like it in their current line though the Sure Strike will do in a pinch. The Buzz is a useful tool in any bowler’s arsenal.

Picked up ball used on June 25, 2009 from K & K Bowling in Las Vegas, NV for $50.00. I was able to drill right through the existing holes(previous owner did not use finger inserts or thumb slug), so no plug work was required.  The ball spec'd out at 15-2lbs and a 2-7/8" Pin, 60* X 4 1/4" X 38*, with no WH and the Cg about 7/8" above the midline.

This ball highly polished gets very easy length and arcs rather hard when seeking out the dry.  I was glad I picked this ball up, really needed a ball to use while in vegas bowling a tourney at Southpoint casino.  Lanes were pretty dry as I was swinging a Black Pearl Reactive the entire lane before getting this one drilled out there.  An excellent ball to fit above the Hornet(which I don't use much-don't usually see the extreme side of dry).  I think the "Insect" weight blocks matches up well with my game as the Buzz and Sting are two of my all-time favorite LM balls.
