Powerhouse blueprint = AWESOME!
« on: October 03, 2012, 04:50:40 PM »
If you havent been able to see what this is all about.
you are missing out
awesome technology to use to see what you will get in a new ball

http://blueprintbowling.com/

Ask your pro-shop if they have it.
Little pricey yet for the bowler.
designed for pro-shops.
soon, you will be able to get your own blueprint numbers without  needing a pro-shop to be able to give your driller to enter into this program.

Your pro-shop can figure out your numbers now on his own now, but it is a little time consuming.
Simply enter your specs, lane conditions, drilling, surface, etc
It will show you the ball motion on the lane in the software.

want to add a weight hole?
it will show you the new motion

I wont buy another ball again without using this
no more guessing on what you will see with your new ball

No disrespect, but for $500 and $100 annual fee for software updates and etc I'll take my chances with the math and numbers. Its a really good program from my understanding but just too pricey for my taste. Glad your enjoying it.

only problem is that you need to be using an ebonite ball for it to acurately predict ball motion

the software is for the pro-shops to buy, not joe bowler
joe bowler will be able to get his personal blueprint specs by himself very soon
your pro-shop can figure it out for now
And you are correct, it is Ebonite products only.

Ebonite is leading the industry in this area by far

I understand Dave, and i am in the pro shop. That clarifies a lot though, but Ebonite is like the 6th best seller here outside of the Cyclone. Now Hammer does big sales and Track does decent, so i understand where that fits in. Around here thought, its Storm and Brunswick. How does the system calculate other manufacturers?

To my limited knowledge, it does not do any other manufacturers
I had the chance to get fully blueprinted and see the software in action
I'm specifically struggling with equipment selection for dry old wood lanes on THS.
I'm fairly heavy handed to boot

Currently using original JET and it has the motion im looking for.
but when it doesn't work, i don't have any other options.

with the blueprint, i was able to see what other equipment and drillings will look like before I go and try something for a 150$ experiment.

I ended up with a 300a that has a 2" pin-pap layout and a U2 with a 5.5" pin-pap layout
no weight holes in either at this time
will also have to dial in surface as well

we will see how it goes

It's my understanding that for non-Ebonite balls the best you can do is to find an Ebonite Int. ball with similar specs.  --  JohnP

I suppose that would work
Even altering the angle of the weight hole in the software changes the ball
I had no idea how involved the drilling on the ball affects the motion.
depth of finger holes, size and depth of weight holes, this software can dial it right in for you

Definitely a look towards the future of this sport on the equipment side

Its a great program that I tried the trial version of. It confirms many of the things I've read and learned over the years thanks to Mo and some other articles read online. After trying some layouts on symmetric and asymmetric cores I had no further use for the program for me. Also played with a few different weight hole locations outside the gradiant x-hole range just to have some other options as needed.

If this is an Ebonite Program, then it would not make sense to put anything else other than Ebonite International equipment.  One will just have to continue to watch videos on youtube for the other manufacturers.

"No further use" ??

Every new ball from Ebonite International is able to be downloaded into blueprint,
you see exactly what you will get.

Its just another available tool to use
And right now, Ebonite is the only one that has it I guess

No use because I do not throw EBI brand equipment. I'm not concerned with what it predicts the ball should do based on the lane conditions and the info EBI puts in for the coverstock ect ect.

I only care about the effects the drilling has on the core and overall numbers of the ball. How it effects the high rg axis and low rg axis along with the placements of the weight hole and the increased or decreased dynamics it has on the ball. It confirms a lot of what I have seen and read online.

Take the bowling balls intended condition and match it with a layout to go with said bowling style and conditions and your going to have success every time. Then adjust cover as needed to fine tune the ball same with a weight hole.
