Last year (my first) the service was pretty good so I renewed.  I have not been happy with the quality of the product this year and will not be renewing for a third year if they don't improve their product and soon.

I subscribed the first year a couple of months.  But the product today isn't very good and I can watch what I want on YouTube.

knowing this isnt TV level quality and like 6 bucks a month
I thinks its far better than the TV shows
match play is great and they always seem to have someone who didn't qualify for match on for commentary.
lots to pick from as well

I see the most value in watching the qualifying blocks.  My biggest gripe is that the video quality is lousy and would gladly pay more for HD.  Commentary is so so, but I appreciate when pros stop by the booth to give their insight

Ok since it supposedly worked to some degree 10+ years ago, here is my advice for those in charge of PBA Xtra Frame:

1) If you want it to be truly Xtra Frame, do the following.
2) Have the pros come up to camera before and after matches going into detail what balls they used, the grit finish, and the drilling layout.  I mean make it super technical.  Casual fans aren't subscribing, just hardcore fans.
3) Always have an HD camera at least from behind the bowlers.  Throw out the 3/4 camera that I've hated since the 1990s.  You can't see anything from that angle.  And reduce the cameras on the approach.  I don't need to see their follow through while the ball mysteriously makes its way down the lane off camera.
4) Disregard crowds.  I don't care about crowds on Xtra frame.
5) Have the show announced by PBA bowlers themselves that are still bowling.  They know what's going on more than these other losers - especially that new guy on the ESPN broadcast that treats bowling like golf - boring boring boring.
6) Be more clear on what is upcoming schedule on Xtra frame so customers know what they are getting and make the payments like Netflix.  Join or cancel without fee anytime.
7) Ok this is 2016, if golf can show the entire flight path, ball speed, ball rotation, ball loft angle, ball impact, ball roll, etc., the least bowling can do is provide: ball speed, ball revs, ball angle of entry or rotation, and exact ball weight.  C'mon guys!  This isn't about money.  This is common sense!

It's always about $$$
And this production is fairly low budget
Even the couple replays they show are pretty low tech
So, they can't do what your asking

I would guess it's a "can't"
I had heard a few years back that it cost $100K to produce 1 live PBA show
I would bet that there were sponsors at the time

For the low amount of money that it costs to subscribe and I'm betting, not very many subscribers, the PBA will only put so much into this.
the old addage rings true "you get what you pay for"
I - for one - enjoy it

Hey Necromancer, don't sugar coat it man, how do you really feel?   ;D
Haha!  We'll see.  I feel it is all about business.  What improves bowling long-term for both fans and hardcore bowlers?  Xtra frame should follow what NXT is to WWE.  NXT is much more technical in wrestling.  Smaller crowds in favor of more technical wrestling.  Fewer promos, fewer pyros, fewer flash.  Just pure technical style.  That is what Xtra frame needs to be.  In the 20+ years I've watched on TV, PBA has made very little use in technology.  Having an HD camera isn't expensive.  For $5000, you can get 4-5 and have them at different locations.  Get an instrument that measures ball speed, revs, etc. - the same used by golf proshops to display the newest club.  These instruments sit right at the foul line like they do at the tee for golfers.  Place a camera overhead.  In fact, I'll make it easier PBA, here is where your 5 cameras should be (and please for the love of God, don't let Belmonte or anyone else use Google Glass to show a POV camera - don't need to see a jerky camera that shows nothing for fans):

1) 2 behind the bowlers on each lane.  This is where 99.9999999% of bowlers see in their leagues.  This will give them an idea of the hook and motion of the ball from the POV they are most used to.
2) 1 overhead between a pair of lanes.  I don't want to see Randy Peterson draw a squiggly line depicting a curve of a ball.  I want to see the actual ball motion overhead so we can see if the ball matches the ads companies use to show why their ball is a "hook monster".
3) 1 side view at the foul line.  If you must, have just 1 camera parallel to the foul line that shows a direct side shot of the bowler's finish.
4) 1 free motion camera that moves on a track similar to NFL or track and field events.  It moves along with each ball thrown and returns back to the foul line.  This is the hardest, but very doable in 2016.

C'mon PBA!  Let's make PBA great again! :D
