Missouri State Open Handicap Doubles Champions
« on: May 01, 2012, 01:17:39 PM »
Well I can say with some pretty good certainty that we (me and my partner Paul) are the Missouri State Open Handicap Doubles Champions!

They just posted the Final Unofficial standings and it looks like we hung on and won it. I’ve got to say, this was probably the best bowling highlight of my long bowling career. Not only did we win the event; I managed to throw my first official 300 game during the doubles event. I used the Motiv Raptor Attack drilled 45 x5 5/8 x 40 at 2000P.

What was amazing is I gave up bowling for two years because of a wrist injury. This season was the first time back and I didn’t start that until half way through it. I really struggled at the beginning but the more I bowled the stronger my wrist became.

My entering average for the tournament was 193. That’s about 16 pins below where I was before the injury. I averaged 210 for the tournament (all events) and that was with a terrible team series. I did manage a 240 average for the doubles though. I’ve also got to give my partner Paul equal credit. He bowled above his average also.

We managed a scratch 1349 and finished with a 1512. Our handicap was the lowest of all of the top 12. That is just an indication of how well we really bowled.

Okay, I’m done bragging. ;)

Sounds like you had a rewarding trip to Central MO. I assume that S & D was at West Gate & team was at Town & Country. DNB this year due to too many other commitments eventhough I live 5 miles from WG. Congrats!!
