Is it possible that this is a 9 pin no tap league? I did check on bowl.com and he has a lot of 300's/800's in his past, but nothing like this run.

At the top it says "Nine is Enough" bowling league.  It must be a no tap league

I wondered about that too, but in the league rules it says this:

Type of League and Features

Type of bowling is Standard 10-pin bowling
This is a mixed league.
The League is: Handicapped.
The League will be Certified/Sanctioned with the USBC.

Or maybe it is your standard 10 pin handicap league....and he is using that new ball I read the review on this forum the other day. This "piece" clears the heads and mids very clean while reading the mid lane very well.  Then it makes an unprecedented move to the pocket like a hockey stick from anywhere on the lane.  Oh, and it also has great continuation thru the pins and sends them flying everywhere while still keeping them low.......

NINE IS ENOUGH is at Mchenry Bowl and is a Mixed 4’s No Tap Scoring league.

You can see the listing here.

It is a no tap league. I know Ed personally and have bowled scratch doubles with him several times. He is a 220+ bowler on a THS.

Yeah, I think it's both due to a no-tap scoring league and that latest, greatest piece that has an innate sense for the perfect ball motion.
Ball speed avg. (18.25 mph)
Rev rate avg. (400-428 rpm)
