I bought the boat. I have gathered up all my extra dollars in the budget. So bowling is out for me. Going to spend my time on the water.

It was tough decision, but the past few years, I have not enjoyed the sport of bowling personally in my area. So I decided to put my money into something that I do enjoy, fishing. Just came back from Vermont. It was an awesome trip.

I haven't come to grips to selling my equipment, but that might be the next thing. I would like to get a fish finder. I have 12 balls. Thought I might be able to sell them for $15-$20 a piece. I also have an Armadillo, Span gauge, and a Pro-Sect.

I second that. ....plus some fly fishin in Montana  !

Congrats on your new boat.  It looks like you just validated Brunswick's decision to get out of the bowling business and remain number one in the boating business.

Trash, good luck on your new direction. Freshwater fishing has been my lifelong love. You reside in western Pennsylvania, so The Adirondacks in upstate NY are well within your driving range (especially since you have traveled to Vermont). Lake George is the most magnificent body of water that I have ever seen. The lake has a maximum depth of nearly 200' and has about 300 islands scattered all over the lake. The water is gin clear and has a specie of fish for almost everyone: lake trout, landlocked salmon, lots of bass (smallies, largemouth, and nuisance rock bass!!!), pike, pickerel, and perch. Take your entire family to the Lake George region, and you will be hooked for life.

My icon shows me hoisting a 6 pound 2 ounce smallmouth bass that I boated on the upper Niagara River in August 2012. The Falls are about 12 miles directly behind me.

St. Croix - Nice Fish. I went through the Adirondacks on my way to Vermont. Beautiful lakes and streams up there. Definitely going to plan future trips in that area. I was in the North Eastern Part of Vermont, a lot of little lakes to fish. There were a couple of days where I had the lake to myself. Biggest fish I caught was a 27" bowfin (Not sure if that is a big bowfin, but it really put up a fight!). I also had a big smallmouth on too. When I hooked it I thought I hooked another bowfin until it jumped out of the water and then realized it was a smallie, too late, the fish threw the lure off. Oh well! Another one that got away.

Definitely was shocked at how clear the water is up there. The fishing was amazing too. All fish that I caught just seem to be the next size up compared to what I usually catch back home. The size of perch I was catching surprised me the most. I caught many over 10 inches on my spinnerbait (I just don't see panfish that size in my area).
