Bowling Shirts
« on: August 04, 2015, 01:56:46 PM »
Does anyone know a good, inexpensive place (online) to get shirts for your bowling team?

Last year was the first year for our team on a men's league and we talked about getting shirts made but never did.  So this year I'd like to check into it.  Not sure yet if we want to go with any type of design or graphics or just stay with the team name.  And possibly our first names on the front.  Basically the cost will determine what we end up with.

Thanks!!

If youre talking about just regular shirts then you can try custom ink.com or you can go to the local mall kiosks that do shirts for around $20ish each.

Jerseys I think the cheapest is probably g2 gemini, High 5, or boom apparel.

Just went to the kiosk in our mall here in Houston and they wanted $55 to put my name on the back of a polo (embroidered).  It was first and second, so that was for 2 words.  I wouldn't get my hopes up too high on the mall idea.

I ended up using a arts-and-crafts person recommended to me that had an embroidery machine.  She charged me $15.  But that is dependent on you knowing someone with a machine.

Another option is to use vinyl letters or iron-on letters.  Looked at that also and it was about $5-10 for a pack of 2" iron-on letters.  Depending on the number of letters that could be a good option.

I have not heard the greatest of responses on using the printer-based iron on systems.

Getting screenprinting is also an option depending on the number of colors and the initial cost for the screen.

All this is to show that the $70-100 from the big name sublimation companies isn't too bad.  You can go cheap with a cheap shirt and cheap lettering, but you might get a cheap outcome also.

From my understanding you cannot use screen print during pba competition other than the sublimation jerseys approved by the PBA.

The OP wants the shirts for a men's league.  Plus, I think only airbrushing is not allowed.

Funny thing, the PBA rules uses the Gemini shirt for logo placement but does not allow Gemini shirts.  Just thought that was odd.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions!!  I'll check them out.  And yes, the shirts are just for a men's league, not tournaments.  But I didn't realize that there are restrictions on what you can and can't wear for tournament play.  Good to know...

Thanks again!!
