Closest current core?
« on: July 04, 2016, 03:56:44 PM »
What modern/current core would be considered closest to the Lane#1 Bomb core in the Dirty Bomb? I love the ball and would like a modern day version with a slightly stronger Pearl coverstock.
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III

Since the minimum RG (15 lb.) is 2.52 and the Differential is .053, I'd look for any light bulb core with a flip block in that range.

It's a slightly higher RG and slightly less diff but the Booster core in the Rocket series looks to be close to your description. So Pearl option being the Sky Rocket. Hmm

Vibe has a much lower differential, .042"; I think going from .053" down to .042 is significant. Of course a P4 or double thumb hole could add a potentially significant increase.

The Adrenaline Overload being a pearl with 2.50 and .056 seems close. Does the  Ebonite line have an oil saturation issue that kills their cover stocks faster than the other EBI lines? Never thrown them but have seen it pop up on here.

That's old, old "news"; since all the EBO brands are made by the same people on the same assembly, that can't be true. Ebonite brands absorb oil no quicker or slower than anyone else's. Every ball MUST be taken care of properly in order to continue to function at optimum capability.

I'm reflecting on how sad I'm going to be when something happens to this ball as I'm still on the hunt for something similar.

I'll sell you a megaton or a uranium pearl if interested both single drills
