Cant believe they made them stop bowling.

I just added an extra hour to the recording. Hopefully I'll catch some bowling.

The coverage is terrible, low budget...Time to move on. ESPN puts the least amount of money into PBA telecasts. Time to move one from the sorry ass ESPN telecasts.

After almost 20 years of using ESPN as the sole producer of NHRA, NHRA moved to Fox Sports 1 starting this season (this weekend is the first under Fox). I think the PBA could and should look into a similar move.  NHRA was tired of horrible coverage, always getting bumped for anything, and just about whatever else someone wanted to say about the production of the show.

Slightly off topic, but this could be one of those the "grass is always greener" kinda moments for the NHRA.  I am a big NHRA fan and watched/DVR'd the coverage on ESPN. Yes, the FS1 coverage will be better times, and a few actual live finals (I think the Winternationals was one of those actually), but the program still left a lot to be desired. For one, FS1 couldn't sign Mike Dunn and have gone with Tony Pedregon. Tony was horrible. Plus, as I think ESPN found out, when you do live NHRA broadcasts, and you aren't showing all the Sportsmen classes, it leaves a lot of time to fill to give the top 3 (or 4 if the PS Bikes are there) series the time they need to turn the cars (or bikes) around for the next round of racing. Lots of talking, and with Tony being bad, that wasn't a good combination. So be careful in saying things would be better for the PBA to go to CBS Sports Network, there may be other issues that arise.

Plus, bowlers aren't happy unless they are complaining, so I am sure we would see threads like this even if they did move.

I like the ESPN telecasts, but I was quite surprised they made the bowlers wait while they got the technical difficulties worked out. I know they were allowed some extra shots, but it seems wrong to halt a major tournament.
Also, I gotta say, the camera angles must be changed. I really like the behind-the-bowler angle, but when the shot of the ball hitting the pins is obstructed, it gets awfully frustrating. I don't think it's too much to ask for, but this has been a persistent problem with telecasts.
But, I hate to complain. Really loved the telecast.
