fall/winter plans....avoid bowling alley food
« on: July 29, 2015, 01:58:13 PM »
This season I'll be using my 4 ball roller, but I'll only carry 3 balls. I need that extra space to bring "healthy" food and my large portable fan. lol The food at the bowling alley are not so....."healthy". I'm only 42 and I just saw and heard about 4 guys getting sick - strokes and heart attack. I was there for two of those episodes.

I know the bowling alley doesn't allow food, but they really don't enforce it. Likewise, I'll bring my hydro-flask and bring water.

Take care of yourselves fellow bowlers....hate to hear ppl going down with cardiovascular situations.

Serioiusly though, I've had friends (one of them like is like a brother) pass away this year from heart attacks - non bowlers. both were my age....

No mention of all the alcohol being consumed while bowling?  ???

I don't eat while I bowl, but depending on the house, I don't necessarily want to either.

I get either a bottle of water or Gatorade to drink during league.

I was told that this past season our center kicked a league bowler out for bringing in a bottle of water.  It was on a league that I don't bowl on, but I did hear that confirmed by two other bowlers from that league, so I believe it to be true.  Our center does not have a water fountain now (they were removed during the last 'renovation', along with the Coke vending machine and snack machine) so you have to either buy from the counter or at the snack bar.  I've been told the food is good at the snack bar but I don't like to eat while bowling.

There's a privately owned bowling alley with a nice throwback diner with good calamari, vegi burger, Chicken Kabob, and a steak salad. It's the only bowling center I'll eat at. In fact, Wednesday nights is our family eat out/cheat night, I might take the family lol....

the bowling isn't cheap but it's a small house and staff and bowlers seem really friendly. The bowling/sette area is real nice and relaxing.

You would think in an area as big as a BOWLING CENTER there would have to be a water fountain .. don't know how they get away with that!

Ive never been a big bowling alley food eater, its shit. Like most food out there, its shit. Ive been eating "clean" for 2  months and I highly recommend most if not all people try it. Ive lost quite a bit of weight, although I was never a big guy, I sleep better, I feel better, my moods are much more stable, and I can bang my wife like a stallion again.

"Clean" is no packaged anything, nothing in a box, no candy, no bread, no grains, no refined sugar. All vegetables, lean meat, and some fruit. Its probably the single best decision I've made in my life.

All 4 of my local centers removed theirs, however they all either give free water at the snack counter OR sell it for cost.. Like one sells 34 oz waters for 15¢

at least the center I bowl they gives free pitchers of water and any amount of cups you request.  i think the water fountain at this center was replaced with a counter with napkins, folks, straws, etc.....
