goals for upcoming fall season
« on: July 22, 2014, 08:46:23 AM »
With the onset of the leagues quickly approaching, what are some goals you have set for this season? Was the goals you set last season achieved, or are they still in tact or demolished?

My goals this year is to:
1 - get that elusive 800 series
2 - not buy so many new pieces. I am happy with my equipment currently. I added in the neighborhood of 12 new balls last season. I have 5 I haven't even picked up yet....  I know kinda stupid!

Last years goal was to increase my average by 10, I increased by 5. I would like that other 5 this year.

To see the look of joy in my 4 year old son's eyes as he knocks down pins for the first time with a real bowling ball at a bowling alley.

As much as I will be doing the typical improvement of my game, seeing my son do it would eclipse any improvement I make.

My goal is to be bowling when the leagues start.

Major shoulder surgery Memorial weekend has had me healing and doing physical therapy since.  Still not allowed to work on any strength, just range of motion, etc.

Bowling last season was painful with a torn biceps tendon and torn rotator cuff, so goal #2 is to bowl pain free within the next few months.  If I were a baseball pitcher I'd still be a year away, so at least I have that going for me...

Lane

Take it slow man do as much as you can but not more. That injury is nothing to play with. Best of luck on getting back as soon as possible

Thanks amyers,

My therapist keeps reigning me back in and reminding me that I had 3 surgeries at the same time.  The third part was to remove part of the acromion (end of the clavicle) and clean up the joint.  It's been a long summer, but it is improving, so my mindset is optimistic.

Work on keeping the slide foot straight into the foul line.

Shoulders straight on ten pin pick ups
