Guru Limited Pearl compared to Hammer
« on: August 24, 2016, 07:06:44 PM »
I throw all hammer and I am a two handed bowler. I need to know what ball does the black Guru Limited Pearl compare to in the Hammer line up and is it better then what you are comparing it to. All my bowling balls are listed. Thank you in advance.
My Weapons for WAR: 15LBS. Hammer Black Widow Gold, Storm IQ Tour, Storm Timeless, Storm Drive, Hammer Black Urethane, Hammer Gauntlet.  Gold Widow Spare

Red Legend pearl. Both pearl covers with asymmetric cores. Numbers are probably off, but the function of each is to create a skid/flip reaction.

I second the red legend pearl,it will be maybe a board stronger and a hair earlier, overall the legend will be the most skid/flip out the two Lil more length and backend

You must be nuts.  An independent evaluator did work to tell you which was stronger.  Bowlingball.com rated the balls using the same scale (independent of the manufacturer).  The Red Legend got an overall rating (hook potential) of 212.1 and the Guru Limited got a 230.2.  The highest score that bowlingball.com gave any ball (pearl or solid) was a 232.8.  Both are Pearls but both are not equal.  Hammer does not have a pearl that will compare to the Guru Limited in hook potential.

The Lock has a 234.4 Perfect rating on bowlingball.com, but saying that I have never seen a pearl hook as much as the Guru Limited pearl. I've seen 2 thrown and I didn't get one because it comes back so hard.

Just Saying!

The numbers that I quoted were directly off their website.

It all depends on how you evaluate a term like hook. The Guru Limited is the stronger ball. From what I have seen it will hook earlier and cover more total boards than the RL Pearl but the RL Pearl is longer and will have close to the same back end or maybe even slightly more than the Guru Limited. Both are good balls
