i bowled a tourn last weekend that had wood lanes
i knew ahead of time and brought several weaker pieces with mostly shiny covers
figuring if i go to the lanes shiny and it turns out i need to adjust, no problem
well, lots of volume on my ball, but hard turn off the friction and at least 2 of them hit harder than i have ever seen...
but carry was horrible.
hard hitting isn't a great indication of the "right" ball
surface is the most influential component of ball motion
other things matter more than hard hitting IMO

Hardest hitting ball is whatever a guy with 450 revs is throwing.  Hardest hitting ball for me depends on the condition.  On a 52 foot Badger pattern I cant imagine anything hitting better than my Black Widow Legend.  On a 35 foot Sydney pattern, my Blue Hammer will out hit anything in my bag because I can play it right up off the corner to get away from the worst of the carry down.

Hardest hitting ball for me at the moment is the Motiv Primal Rage. I have had several others in the past from certain manufacturers that were hardest hitting for me at that time.

All of you are wrong.  The Storm Shift is the hardest hitting ball.... ever. Period. End of story.

force = mass x acceleration. If you are using lighter, go up in weight.

Some balls seem to roll thru the rack differently than others. Even though I had a heck of a time trying to match up to the core, the Train had a hit that made me fear that I was going to break pins, and I don't throw it hard enough or with enough revs to break anything. Looking forward to the Pure.

Another ball that has a very hard hit to it is my Network. The CFT core rolls great thru the rack.

Also, if I didn't mention the Black Eagle, I would be remiss. If you've never thrown a ball with the Break/Eagle core, you have yet to fall in love.

Now, to get off of the 900 Global bandwagon, some balls that I've seen thrown and I think to myself "Wow, those have an off the chart hit"

Sinister - I almost changed over to Roto Grip for this ball. The Cage core is pretty awesome looking.
Hyper Cell - There is something to be said for that core..
Covert Revolt - Ball reminds me of a V2 motion with a ton of hit.
