Thinnest finger protecting tape?

Looking for finger protection tape, not for the thumb. What's the most effective yet thinnest tape? I'd like to tape up my ring finger, as I have a pretty bad callus that I would like to protect, but I'd prefer not to have to go up in grip size because the tape makes my finger quite a bit larger.

I have a fairly small callous on the side of my middle finger, at the first joint.  About every two weeks, two or three days before I'll be bowling again, I use an emery board on it.  That keeps it from getting larger and ripping open.  --  JohnP
