They lane machine they have is the Kegel Kustodian Ion. The owner is searching for a house pattern that will result in high scores. I believe lanes are Brunswick pro lane.

Can anyone share a pattern they use that results in high scores? Do any of the Kegel recreation patterns result in high scores?

Thank you.

Anything from the "Recreation" series on the Kegel website(look for the pattern libary) will result in high scores.

Wall Street, Easy Street and Main Street will all give you a THS that will result in higher averages.

I went to scout a house for a tournament that I was going to bowl and the kid at the desk told me they had Wall Street down (lanes are Brunswick Pro Anvilane).  I had never bowled on it and I shot 289 the first game (FIGJAM).  The kid came over and said "Easy shot, huh?"

So yeah, I'd nominate Wall Street.  Also, milorafferty pretty much gave you the 3 easiest stock Kegel patterns.  I'd say try them all as lane topography might dictate that 1 might be higher scoring than the others.

Also the caliber of bowler will dictate scoring.
How decent are the pins?
Sideboards?

Putting out the easiest shot in the world can help increase scores.
But if you have junk pins, worn out sideboards it will limit the scoring potential.
free agency it is until i get a better offer.   LMAO

+1

What type of conditioner is being used? That has an impact as well.

I would additionally ask a Kegel rep. They should be able to help with this as well.

Sad that "higher scores" is what proprietors are forced to try and achieve in order to draw people into their center...

I would rather bowl on more difficult shots (or at lower scoring centers), carry a lower average and then clean up at handicap tournaments on easy shots.

I think most of us who care enough to be on bowling sites such as this one feel the same way. Unfortunately, the other 99% of the bowling population would rather see high scores with little to no effort.

The two centers i bowl at have put out shots this year to lower the scores. One house the league I am in the averages are down 30- 50 pins per player. just makes me want to try that much harder.

What bowlers have always wanted at the league level is consistency.  I go back 50 years, and only a handful of us ever practiced or really worked on developing any versatility in our games.

Bowlers are products of their environment.  You could make the Badger the house shot, and over time bowlers would adapt to it.  Ask any top level tournament bowler and they will tell you that some of the sport patterns score as high or higher for them than a house shot.

The problem with the game of bowling is not the THS shot per se.  It rewards a high reving big hooking delivery, which is not usually effective on longer flatter patterns.

I think the THS is a legitimate condition that probably should be one of many tournament patterns.  I have no problem that those bowlers who want consistancy should be able to bowl on the THS.  Yes it is a high scoring pattern, but it still rewards consistency, even if it is one dimensional.  I just want to see more young bowlers want to be competitive and have the opportunity to develop the necessary versatility.
