oil volume
« on: July 21, 2018, 07:43:16 AM »
I have a question for all of those knowledgeable Lane people here on this site. I bowling East Texas and we have a light shot most of the time this summer they decided one of the league was going to have PBA animal patterns. 33 foot wolf 33 ft cheetah scorpion and chameleon. Last Wednesday the house put out the Scorpion shot for me after I bowled league I used the same ball as I used in

league I had to stand on 28 roll the ball out to the 8 which was the break point for the local house . After League they put out the Scorpion on one lane for me to play on I had to stand on 13 so they definitely had longer oil but there never was any oil  on the ball and after one game I had to get on my bicycle and keep going left the shot broke down that fast with one person on the lane. I am a medium speed low Rev senior bowler so I did not tear up the shot. Here is the question is it possible for them to use a Kegel machine use the Kegel scorpion pattern and not have the same amount of oil volume put out as on the PBA shot because when they put out PBA shots they don't play like they should they play like they're all dry. They seem to get the length but they don't get the volume we never see oil on the bowling balls.is this possible using a Kegel machine and a Kegel oil pattern. So far this league is on its third different pattern out of the four and they have one 600 from everybody in the house

The thing about oil volume is where it is applied.  Most sport patterns have higher total volume than house patterns.  However the oil is dispersed much more evenly, meaning the volume in the middle will seem lighter than a house shot.   If you tend to bowl in a hooking house they can seem very dry.  I recently bowled on a 45 foot pattern second shift, and ended up playing 4th arrow with urethane.   A month earlier on another house I was able to find hold area just inside 15 with a marvel pearl pn the same shift.

I am also a medium speed low rev senior, so I kind of understand what you are finding
