New Arsenal
« on: February 23, 2018, 03:46:04 PM »
I'm bowling so terrible and changing some pitches, so I figured I would start from scratch. I unloaded most of my Motiv stuff and bought a bunch of new balls. Here is what I have so far.  Not even sure what all of these do and how they overlap yet, but I will put them in the order I think they go.  What else do I need??

Radical Cash
Hammer Rhodman
Hammer Black Widow Legend (waiting to arrive)
Radical Grease Monkey Whack
Rotogrip Hustle Ink
Motiv Venom Shock
Motiv Ascent Apex
Motiv Rebel Tank

I have a 900 Global Inception DCT pearl, but I am getting rid of it.
375 RPM, 17-18 MPH, 45+ DEG AXIS ROTATION, 17 DEG TILT

You could cover a lot with those balls. There is some overlap but not terrible.

Cash, Rhodman, and Legend is a good setup for med-heavier oil and Can't go wrong with the Shock and Ink.

A pearl option.

So did you just order whatever was on sale or any reasoning behind your choices?
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

I had some plan, but yes, most were on sale.  The dct pearl was my pearl but it is a dud for me.  The cover is probably too strong for a true "pearl" reaction.

I thought the grease monkey whack was a pearl but I've read some places it is a hybrid.  I had the grease monkey new in my garage for a couple of years.

Don't think in terms of solid, pearl, hybrid so much. Think in terms of cover strength and reaction characteristics.

The Whack was liked by a lot of people as med-lighter oil ball that has a good amount of backend. I had the original Ascent Apex,it's a good ball but stronger cover than advertised. Id say it fits the same category as the Ink but the Ink is better

I agree about the whack.  It might read a little early but does have good back end.  My ascent apex is pretty weak.  I got whatever one btm said was the weakest and also put control it to try to make it more of a true dry lane ball.
