Wanted to know if anyone really gets balls drills like the suggested retailer? Should those be the only pattern the driller should be using or can they use what they thinks works considering what you want the ball to do?

The drilling patterns that are sent in the box should be looked at as starting points only. Each bowlers has their own specs and each bowlers ball will look different to achieve the same properties.
