Sharpest Balls on the Market?
« on: February 10, 2013, 06:30:38 AM »
I was just curious, what do people on here feel is the most Angled, sharpest break point ball out there right now?  From the looking i've been doing, the First Blood from Hammer looks to be about the most boards from  the latest breakpoint, but what do folks think?

The most skid/flip or sharpest reaction to friction is the Nexxxus f(P+S). This ball has the sharpest left turn of any of the balls in my bag. A close second right now is the Ringer. For an entry level ball, it has an a strong reaction to friction.

Victory Road Pearl I think. R2S pearl is the cleanest and sharpest cover ever produced in my opinion. The core is stronger downlane than the IQ Tour Pearl so it ranks above it despite having the same cover.

My frantic has the hardest breakpoint

Can make any ball look like it was kicked to the left by throwng five miles per hour and coming totally around the ball at release.  I just don't get these type of threads.  It depends on the bowler, layout, and cover finish.
Long Gone also posts the honest truth which is why i respect him. He posts these things knowing some may not like it.

I'll add the Roto Grip Shatter to what's already been mentioned. It's as angular as any IQ Tour Pearl I've seen.

For me, it's the DV8 Hell Raiser Terror.  Sharpest recovery I've ever had from a bowling ball.

I think the IQ Tour Pearl is a great ball, and on lighter oil it may give the appearance of being more angular.  On the other hand, I am not sure why it is showing up so often here as one of the most angular balls available.  It is a low differential symmetric, which doesn't lead one to expect that it will be extremely angular.  A quick look at Tamerbowling's digitrax analysis on Kegel Main Street confirms this as it gives about a 6 degree angle of entry.  The Lucid is quite a bit more than that and the Nexxxus is even more still.  They may not give a hockey stick look on the lane, but as a function of creating angle of entry, both are quite a bit more, at least in these tests.  I would guess that a number of the other suggested pieces are the same in that they would give more angle of entry than the Tour Pearl.

Yellow Misfit.  High RG + pearl + extra resin + polish = ridiculous backend if you have some axis rotation and hand
I do see how people see the Terror, Frantic and pearl Victory Road being very angular as well.

Lone gone daddy,

I'd assume this type of question is more so to form a specific look on the lane. It's like saying throwing a taboo spare hooks just as much as the sync if you rev the taboo more and slow the speed down. For instance, I need a ball that can corner better than 90% of the market. Sure my equipment I have has a great look on the lane. But sometimes, it's not enough. Just like the times when there's a need for a smooth rolling ball.

By the way, way check out the misfit pearl, victory road pearl, fringe, violent eruption( just as good as the IQ Tour Pearl), and the hammer epidemic is you can still find them. Even though I love every storm/Roto grip ball I've ever thrown except the virtual gravity, I was quivering in seat when I saw someone in my league throw that misfit pearl. Utterly ridiculous and probably tied with the Victory Road pearl in the skid flip category.
