Question about urethane Hammers

I have a few Hammers from the 80's and was wondering what the  B or S within the circular logo was for.   Was it for the Baltimore/Saint Louis facilities or did it mean Blem/Second.   I can't remember what they engraved the letters for?

Wasn't there also a plant in St. Louis where balls were poured? I'm asking because I thought I read something about that. I know there was Baltimore and SLC, but thought there was one in STL.

I think it's blems and seconds. The plant origin was in the serial number. I had a ball marked B for what I assumed was blem because it was pin out. They didn't know at the time what we know now.

I know they had factories in St Louis and Baltimore.  The one in St Louis later became Visionary's factory.  If you email Jason at Visionary, he could probably answer the questions.

Edited to add:  All of Visionary's current balls start their serial numbers with SL to indicate the St Louis Factory.  The two numbers following the SL indicate the year - so SL01 would be 2001.  Only balls that do not have that SL are ones that were poured overseas (some plastics) and ones they made for other customers.

Where the ball was poured was what the Serial number of the ball started with. If there is a B or S in the Circular logo where the CG is located that indicates a Blem or a Second and has nothing to do with where the ball was poured.

If the second alphanumeric in the serial numbet was B or S -- I have two Fab Ball Hammers purchased in the mid-1990s -- it denoted the ball was from the Baltimore plant or the Salt Lake City plant. I would agree with the others the ball was likely a second quality ball if the B or S was in the logo.

 The B and S located withinn the FAB label refers to the ball being either a BLEM, or a SECOND quality ball.

Hi,

The responses are correct for the most part.  The location of the plant that manufactured the ball is in the serial number (Baltimore, Utah, or St Louis).  If there is an S inside the bullseye for the CG location, it is a second/blem.  I don't remember us ever using a B inside the bullseye though.  I would be interested in seeing a picture of it.
