Question on Dropping From 16 to 15?
« on: March 23, 2018, 12:48:04 PM »
I am currently in the process of dropping from 16-15. Due to slightly higher speed with the 15 vs 16( Roughly about 1 MPH) I have dulled the 15 lb equip. I currently have 3( Yeah I know to many) HC Fuseds. 1 Is 16lb drilled 70x4x75 pin under with 1000 + Polish and the 2 15lbs are 50x4x40 pin up and 55x4x75 pin down both at 500/4000 finish. The 16  still seems to read better . Of the 2 15s the 50x4x40 I have had good luck with this surface. Looking for suggestions on the 15lb 55x4x70 for surface. Sorry for the long post. Thank you for any input.

Do you have a spinner?  One huge advantage to owning one is not having to guess as you can try different surfaces and figure out exactly what works for you.  I guess you could try Storm's factory 1500 polished on it.
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

Yes, I have a spinner. Not a Big fan of the 1500 Polish. I have yet to keep one Storm or Roto ball at 1500. Thank you though :)

I am assuming the 55x4x75 is slower reacting than the 50x4x40.  I would take the 55x4x75 down to at 2000 to provide more separation. That is unless you want to use it on shorter conditions than the 50x4x40.  Then you could leave them the same I guess.

But if it were me, 2000 (or lower) on the higher sum ball and 4000 on the lower sum ball.

You might be over thinking this a bit.  Yes your ball speed will increase, but so should you rev rate.  Not saying you shouldnt tweak your surfaces, but I don't think the drop in weight necessitates such a change

Yeah considering came with it kind of figured but just went with the default.  Still having a spinner means you should be able to dial it in pretty quickly.  Maroon scotch brite followed by gold scotch brite might be just the ticket.
