Radical Ball
« on: December 10, 2017, 10:17:34 PM »
Howdy. This old lefty is going to purchase a new ball real soon. Been curious and seriously looking @ the Radical Cyclops Pearl, Cyclops, or the Ridiculous Pearl. Currently throwing a Motiv Octane Carbon as my #1, my HyRoad as my #2 & a 14# Wrecker as my #3. Looking for about the same motion, but maybe not so long on the fronts/mid's. Said balls are pin-up over or left over ring finger. Just a upper novice old geezer here, so not sure of all definitions these days.  ??? Radical line is known for making a hard turn @ the dry so not sure what to expect. Been all over the internet bowling sites trying to gather as much information that is possible about the Radical balls. Those Radicals mentioned above are around 2.54 / .48 - .50. With my Carbon, I throw the 2nd arrow (10 board) (love how it works). Same with the HyRoad / Wrecker. Ball speed around 13.5 - 14 mph with medium higher rev's. Had more powerful balls (2.48 - .50) earlier in life (& younger)  ::), but changed my style a few years ago (15-20 board out to the 3-5 board) upon taking lessons from a few bronze/silver coaches. Now live out in the sticks and it's about a 2 hour drive to any coaches these days and don't get down into the big city much anymore as for the reason for asking here. Thanks for any responses. Jim PS. The lanes where I bowl would be considered medium/light to dry (and are not taken care of to awfully well to my line of thinking).  :o

Cyclops hybrid or pearl is probably their weakest piece (Xeno pearl perhaps as well and it is not quite as long) but it is going to be just about as long as your Octane Carbon.  Radical is awesome but their lineup for the dry is pretty sparse.  Love my More Cash but when I am on the dry I am using either my Blue Hammer or my Path Rising or perhaps my Hy-Road if its medium dry.

I would wait at the moment unless you see something on clearance that you want.

Phil mentioned a Ridiculous replacement and Rack Attack replacement soon. Info is supposed to come in the next couple of weeks.

The Cyclops and Cyclops Pearl would be the current recommendation based on your needs

In no real big hurry, so to speak, but am chomping @ the bit to have & try a new ball. :) It's just that Buddies and Bowlers X had the Cyclops on sale of late, and see that Buddies sale price has ended. Would be/am greatly interested in any new radical ball that might come out in the next 2-3 weeks tho. At the present time I would probably go with the Cyclops Pearl due to lane conditions @ my alleys.
